I am trying to rig up a serpentine belt on a 1983 258. I should have all the brackets.

The TSM does not have much in the way of pictures. I have a 82 TSM and the 83 TSM is only a supplement and I have not been able to find one.

I do believe the smog pump was dropped in 83.

I need a lot of pictures of a 83 set up. I think I have the AC and alternator about figured out.

Remember too that you'll need a reverse direction water pump.

I think I have the AC and alt bracket correct.....

I can move the clock case to get this back bolt of the alt to line up

Steering pump all the brackets are the same for a v belt and serpentine.

I have this plate that can fit here on the steering pump

My left over parts..

Still working on my bracket puzzle. I am in desperate need of help !!!

Here's the latest..

This bracket baffles me. It sits on top of head bolts. I really can't vision it being under the bolts, especially the bracket being aluminum.

I think I am missing a tensioner pulley that bolts to the top of this bracket.

You have it right. And you have the idler pulley that bolts to the aluminum bracket already.

George,
Are these the bolts you are referring to?

If so they are the correct ones.

I got it figured out. The brackets that I have are 1982. I thought they were 1983, which didn't have the smog pump.

This is what I end up with.

I can visualize a custom made bracket with an automatic tensioner go where the smog pump was located.

The 1983 uses a pulley where the air pump is on the 1982. I know because Ive had both 1982 & 83 spirits
