New to AMC and I want to put 14x6 magnum 500's on my Javelin, and need to know how do I know what fits when i see a set? (I'm headed to Kenosha to look)
Do the Mopar or Ford ones fit the bolt pattern and hub assembly? (I have drums all around)

What exactly should I look for in terms of markings, stampings, etc

Thanks in advance!

Ford, Chrysler and AMC fit. Nothing real special about them. AMC versions are 14 x 6.
Chrome rims were 1968 only. Painted ones with trim rings were used in '69 and up. There are slight variations in the paint and trim ring later on. If you are looking for what is 100% correct for your '70, there will be some threads you can search for on this Forum.

There is an NOS set on ebay right now, btw.

74 Hornet Hatchback X twins (since 1977)
62 American Convertible (still worth the $50 I spent in 1973!) AMCRC #513, AMO #384
70 AMX 360 4-speed (since 1981)

Make sure you check the lug nut holes on Magnum 500's before you buy! Many lug holes on these wheels are reamed way out after years of having lug nuts run on with an impact gun. Since Magnum 500 wheels are not hub centric, they rely strictly on the lug nut holes to keep them centered. Reamed out lugs do a very poor job of this.

I stick my pinkie finger in the lug hole to check. Reamed out lugs go way up the finger, good ones not nearly as far. A friend was looking for Magnum 500's at the Gettysburg show. Probably 75% of the wheels he looked at had horribly reamed lug holes, some a stock lug nut would have almost fit thru the hole. He finally got a set of 6 piecemeal that were good. He was paying $15-20 a piece for them.

AMARK sells a kit with the correct paint for these wheels.  They include a sample of how to paint them correctly for 69 vs 70.

I bought some new American Racing Wheels in the Magnum 500 style, aluminum 15" & 17".
Nice wheels at decent price if you have trouble finding old steel wheels.
