I have noticed that it appears that early model Javelins were painted Red, White and Blue, front to back. Late models were painted Blue, White, and Red. Am I correct? Is there a "right" or "wrong" way to do it?
Thanks,
Ken

You are referring to the trans-am race cars? There was no correct way to do it. The SC/Ramblers had an "A" paint scheme and a "B" paint scheme that could be ordered from the factory. The Javelin race cars were painted by the AMC race teams both ways. It is really a matter of personal preference if you are intending to do the same. This all started with the two Breedlove AMX cars painted in both paint schemes.

Don't forget about the Bonneville Javelins.

The factory dealer sheet on doing the Red, White & Blue paint scheme lists it being done either way , and the correct way has it with the counter color stripe red with blue and blue with red just like on the Bonneville cars on the above photo. LRDaum
