I managed to finish Runner Up at the AMC Nationals in the Piper. Went .002 red in the final, I was a little bit disappointed! It felt like a great light, I was just a little too jumpy.

Thought I'd share a little Go Pro footage from my second time trial of the day. I failed to break into the 10 second range, the car is capable though. My first two passes were in the 11.03 range, with a 60' in the 1.58 to 1.59 area. Normally it 60's in the 1.54's on a good sticky track, and you can see in the video the car was fishtailing all the way through second gear, despite having wheelied out of the gate. I can't blame the folks at Cordova, they're great track workers but they had a washout storm the night before, and with the large number of street cars vs the small number of slick cars, it's hard to get and keep rubber on the track.

Here's the video, forgive the crappy angle, I only had a rollbar mount that I had acquired that morning and I hadn't been able to really test it much.

I set the light at 6750, so usually by the time my brain processes it and I shift the lever, it's at about 6800ish. I run a 7000 RPM chip due to not having an external oil feed (yet.. coming next year probably). If I wait too long with the shift light on, it will start to touch the rev limit at 69-6950 and break up a touch. Pretty normal for an MSD 6AL. I tried a 7100 chip to prevent it, but I had an oil light flicker during a burnout, on this car anyway 7000 RPM is a real world limit for the internal oil pickup.

The converter is an 8" JW 5000 stall, I've never really looked that hard during a shift, but watching the go pro footage in full HD I can see that it flashes 5200 on launch (with a 3800 chip) and on my shifts it drops to exactly 5000. I think they nailed the converter :)

Thanks! Not sure it's T/A Red though.. I'm not sure what color to call it, just a reddish orange. This is a pic from last year, it's pretty much the same except I shined it up a bit and swapped to a 'glass front bumper..
