I was wondering if anyone with an Indy block has bored the cam tunnel out for roller bearings? Working on my block and considering doing it.

Also is anyone running a solid, water less block?

Mine is a solid block so I'll be using an Enderle Birdcatcher on alcohol with this engine.

Thanks,
Tom

I don't have any answers for you I have never dealt with roller cam bearings.

The first thing that comes to mind are there AMC specific cam cores readily available for this application or is it a custom one off ?

My block is now solid and you know the combination and application.  No need for alcohol in the drag race application if you are not driving it around the pits.

Roller bearings for the cam are not worth the hassle or cost for your application IMHO.

I run ice water through the heads with the block solid aluminum.  The water temp is usually less than 120* after a pass on a warm day.

I had the cam tunnel bored out to 54 mm
several cam manufactures make a cam from round blank you can get any lsa more lobe lift 4/7 swap
it makes the barrel bigger less twist and flex
