Anyone use one of the replacement rim blow horn switches for 70/71 AMC, I would like to know if there are any issues with them.

Thanks

I bought one several years ago and it was about an inch short.

Depends on where you're buying it. If you get one from Rim Blow Buddy, it's the correct length. A lot of the ones that were being sold were actually made for Ford rim blow wheels so they were the wrong length. There were actually two different Ford switches. One was about an inch short and the other was about one inch long..

I believe Rim Blow Buddy might be out of business most of the pages on that site don't work? So I bought one from one of the AMC vendors it measures 44" about 1-1/2" too short, had I known it was going to be short I wouldn't have bought it. If I could find a Ford switch that is too long I could shorten it.

Thanks

Tony

Everything on their site works fine for me. They are open for business.

Scott
Can you post the link you have to therimblowbuddy.com site you state is good, I cannot even get the site to come up I get an error to any and all links. I checked that site several months ago and there were no parts or steering wheels available for 70 AMC's. I read a post somewhere recently stating the guy that ran The Rim Blow Buddy had health issues and was no longer providing service it said his wife and brother was running it, then this wouldn't be the first time info on the net was wrong. I would return the short "replacement type" switch I bought and buy the correct one from Rim Blow Buddy.

Thanks

I have been able to get to therimblowbuddy.com site still cannot open any links on the home page I am not sure why? My wife can access the full site on her laptop, the 70 AMC rim blow switch is "out of stock" and there is no pricing for a wheel restoration shows $0, the only way to get the correct length switch is by having them restore your wheel if that big $$$ service is available? Ther are others that restore rim blow wheels I am not sure if they have the correct switch.

I'm sure each wheel is priced on a case by case basis. Some need more work & $$$ than others. They probably provide an estimate when you send the wheel in.

I think they have a flat rate fee for the wheels. I had mine done last year when they had a sale on.
