Have you run that cam yet?   Any seat of the pants dyno results (butt dyno)?  Joe

I put about 100 mi on it.  But did not get much highway time.
The throw out bearing went out when I was heading to the Power Tour.
The car I apart getting a T5 trans.

Looks similar to a cam I had cut by Lunati for a 196 OHV years ago -- they added 20 degrees duration and 0.100" lift. Looks like you have the 20 duration and added 0.004" added lift at the lobe, which is 0.0058" more at the valve (assuming the 1.45:1 rocker ratio is correct). So the same added duration and about half the added lift. The lift doesn't affect things near as much as the duration, at least in this slow turning engine. I expect you'll have similar results -- nothing noticeable at take-off, but added power from about 40-45 mph up, which makes for a better cruiser with a little passing/hill climbing power.

Farna,
The request I made was for good cruising at about 2200  rpm.

anyway, this is my grind, pretty close to yours, as there's so little meat to work with. it is very happy with this cam, and really came alive when i swapped the little Weber 32/36 for the 38/38 (two 1.5" bores, simultaneous opening, not progressive).

oh, the pencil note reminded me ...

so the flathead valve springs are 40 lbs at the seat, and OHV 80.

guess what was in my engine when it went to pete fleming's... i pulled the receipt from my 2010 build of this engine, and Kanter's simply sent me the wrong springs. lucky for me he measures height, bind, and compressed height of every spring installed, he says stuff like this is common. not only that, they were binding at full AMC-stock lift, or very close to it. it's now got non-rambler springs and cups in it.

i am now not happy with Kanters. the oil pump pressure relief valve spring i bought from them, same order, documented, failed -- it went soft -- and was the major reason my engine failed, ruined bearings. (average PSI dropped from mid 50 PSI to low 40's, in one long day of driving).

man am i tired of paying good money for junk parts. and i do not shop 'lowest cost'.
