Besides the Wilwood kit, what options are there for rear disc brakes? I'm putting the 13" Mustang set up on the front of my 68 and want something for the rear. I'm not opposed to fabbing brackets or using non factory parts, but would like to hear what others have done. I know the Explorer rear end swap is a possible option too.
I still have the stock rear end. Are the rear drum setups worth selling?

I had a rear kit from these guys on my Jeep. They do make a kit for cars too. The thing I like is they will sell the complete kit, or any parts that you want.

If you're using 13" Mustang brakes with dual 1.68" piston calipers (4.43 sq.in. piston area), likely best to use the matched Mustang rear rotor and brake caliper (2.19 sq.in piston area) or equivalent. Generally want to target 2:1 piston area ratio front/rear with a typical tandem master using similar diameter rotors in a front-weight biased car.
Hope this helps,RD. |
