OK.....after having a rocker polylock back off and blowing the puck out of a spring clip type hyd lifter...which thankfully landed in the valley....we got the 407 in the Gremlin back together with a new set of Comp Pro Magnum hyd lifters as well as a new to me 750 DP HP style carb....and went to the track yesterday for test & tune got 4 passes....first pass off the trailer was 11.701 @ 116.74mph...temp 59/Da3200ft track elevation 2700ft....went down in jet size gained some ET lost mph...went down another jet size lost et @ mph...went back to original jets 78 F/80R gained back the ET and most of the mph....temp was 72/Da4000ft by then....with adding 80lbs of weight over the winter the car ran about where it was last fall with the edelbrock 750 in cool mine shaft type air....so I am really please.....plan is to go 80F @ rear for Friday club race temps should be in the 60's to around 70......

Running with your hub-caps on?   ... how'd you get away with that?

Depends on the track. I heard some places make you take your trim rings off. They always let me run my trim rings or dog dish caps at Quaker and Thompson.
