I'm sure some of you were wondering if there is going to be a 2019 Las Vegas AMC Reunion. Indeed there is! I'm pleased to announce the dates for the 2019 Las Vegas AMC Reunion.  The show will be held on November 8-9 at the Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino ( http://www.railroadpass.com/" rel="nofollow - ).

Due to a conflict with another car club that booked a show at the Hoover Dam Lodge several months ago for the same weekend we had to look for another location. I had been told the management at Railroad Pass was very excited to host car shows again and found out that was very true!

The “Pass” will be an outstanding venue for the show.  We will have a large and secure fully paved show field (the hill is gone).  All the rooms were remodeled within the last two years. They also offer great room rates (we are negotiating discounted room rates), excellent lighting and security, outstanding cooperation from hotel management and staff and more.  Since their banquet room is a banquet room again (it was a classic car dealership), we will be able to hold the awards presentation inside and we are considering having an awards banquet instead of having dinner in the buffet. By the way, the food has considerably improved. My wife and I have had dinner recently both in the completely remodeled Iron Rail Cafe and the Box Car Buffet and it was very good both times. They also have a new travel center.

I'm also happy to say that the Friday free BBQ will again be at Bicentennial Park, one of the largest and nicest parks in Boulder City. The park features plenty of parking for our cars, a gazebo, clean restrooms and playground for the kids. We will also have use of the grill and picnic tables. We haven't decided what the Friday tour will be although we are considering Atomic Motors in Henderson (a short drive from Railroad Pass). Atomic Motors is a full service restoration, sales and consignment dealership. They offer services dedicated to the car and motorcycle enthusiast or collector. Their indoor, climate controlled, secure facilities include motorcycle and classic car showrooms and restoration and fabrication shops.

As more details on both the show and Friday schedule of events become available, they will be posted via email, on the AMC Forum and on over 30 AMC Facebook sites.

For more information, contact club President Larry Daum (mramc@risebroadband.net or 775-513-8112).

We'll see you in November. VEGAS BABY!

Hey, Ron. I've been thinking of making it to your show for a few years. I just might pull the trigger and fly down this year, if things work out. Will try for St Louis this year also. If the stars stay aligned, I plan to finally start the resto on the AMX this summer. Hope all is well with you and Wally.    Scott

The room rates are $59.99 , for rooms through Sunday night. BUT register early. The rates are good until Jull31, 2019 for now. They MAY extend the lower rates and most likely will ,but get reservation in EARLY for Rail Road Pass. If you have too you can always cancel later if some thing unfortunate happens and you can not make it. This is looking to  be a good meet this year. Still working on a few details . I want to thank all of those that have already registered their cars for the Southern Nevada AMC show!  It's on November 8th & 9th this year!  Early registration really helps us out for getting things ready.
Thanks and see you then,  Ron

Here's exciting news!  First Dan Curtis has offered to bring the last SS/AMX "American Dream"!  This could be its only appearance at a show before Dan starts the restoration.  Secondly the "Playmate AMX" will be here and the playmate, who was the recipient of this iconic AMX, Victoria Vetri (aka Angela Dorian) will be here too!  Obviously alot could change between now and then but, as of now, we have commitments from both Dan and the owner of the "Playmate AMX" Mark Melvin.

Just an FYI note on the hotel reservations : The discount rate for the AMC Family Reunion meet at Rail Road Pass for November 8th & 9th is only good until July 30th. I'm lobbying to add another months but I'm very unsure I'll be able to get the extra time. Use "AMC Car Show" for the discount code , phone number for RRP hotel is : (702) 294-5000 Our vice -president Dion Stans has figured out the price goes up to as much as $118 with taxes and fees with out the discount. So if your planning to go to the meet you need to make your reservations now. If you have to you can always cancel later if some thing comes and your unable to attend . But keep in mind they like a three notice for cancellation also. Thanks Larry Daum president SNAMC car club

Dan Curtis has confirmed that he is bringing the "American Dream"  SS/AMX to display at the show!  He also told me that if he can find a driver, he'll bring his Trans Am Javelin too.  Mark Melvin, owner of the Playmate AMX, has told me that it's a 99% probability that Victoria Vetri will be here.  Should know for sure sometime next month.  You won't want to miss this one!  In fact, if you're a true AMC fan, you should be here!  VEGAS BABY!

If you're still on the fence about coming to the last big AMC show of the year, remember that guys in the East and Midwest are putting their cars away for the winter.  Those of us who live in the West or Desert Southwest don't have to worry about that for the most part.  Take advantage of beautiful weather and a great location and show your pride and joy one more time in 2019 at the Las Vegas AMC Reunion.  If you're a bona fide, certified AMC fan, you don't want to miss it!  We'll see you on November 8-9 at the Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino in Henderson, Nevada.

Yes, there will our free BBQ on Friday!  We are at the Bicentennial Park in Boulder City again.  That is the big park with the parking under the awning.
A tour of Richie Clyne's shop and Collection.  Richie Clyne was the person in charge of the Imperial Palace Antique collection for many years.
I'm not sure about the timing of either at this point.

A few pictures from Las Vegas.  Great show this year!  I think I heard that there were 69 cars.

The orange Javelin AMX in the photos is an unrestored '74, which I thought was pretty cool since there weren't that many of them.

I forgot to take pictures of the Marlins, the Ambassador convertibles and pre-1960 Americans, all of which were very nice, so hopefully someone else will have taken some and will post them up here.

Mark Melvin was there with his Playboy AMX and was accompanied by Victoria Vetri, the 1968 Playmate of the Year who originally owned the car!

Thanks for posting these Cam.  The car count was 69 with three more unregistered cars showing up late.  We will posting more photos very soon.  I hate to make the guys in the midwest and east jealous but we can do this in November here in Las Vegas.  The temperature was in the high '70's the entire weekend.

Unfortunately, Dan Curtis had to change plans at the last minute and wasn't able to make it with his Trans-Am Javelin and the last SS-AMX, but it was still a very good show. I even managed a 2nd in class with my old beater, so that was the icing on the cake!

It's not the mountain passes, it's the snow on those passes this time of year!

Congrats on the 2nd place also Cam!

Ah yes... snow and trailering are not a fun combination.

I think there were only four cars in the 71-74 Javelin class, but when I bought my car it would have placed 5th, so we're moving in the right direction, haha.  The winner was a beautifully detailed '72 Javelin with what looks like a $20k paint job, so I have no chance of ever taking 1st when he shows up.

i had a great time, lots of great people and cars. 69 cars! too many to properly see! weather was about perfect.

for me it's a quick 4 hours up from Los Angeles. anyone doing that drive, consider taking US 93 to Nipton Road aka NV-164, to the little town of Nipton. It's 10 or so miles from I-15 (Nipton Road exit). Google says 7 minutes longer, but it's a MUCH nicer drive, you get to skip some of the idiots on I-15, and the once-ghost-town-now-revived Nipton has a restaurant/cafe. you get to exchange an hour or so of beautiful driving for that much I-15 tedium.

anyways.

small but nice swap meet. got a better air cleaner and an AM/FM radio for my 68 American. Radio works! cleaned up nice.

got to spend some time with quality folk.

was nice having everything all in one place.

thanks to larry and everyone for putting it on and all the hard work.
