I know there is a general discussion thread here on the subject - but this one is posted to be able to set up the event calendar and the clean post the event.  This event will be held at the original Chilson Family AMC Dealership in upstate PA (Lawrenceville, PA).  It will be the 50th Anniversary gathering for the 1969 SS/AMXs and SC/Ramblers.

See directions below to "vote" for your attendance at the show, so that organizers can get preliminary numbers (there is no needed show registration, so your input here on the forum will be beneficial)

Thought I'd bring this one back up to the top.

It's only two weeks from today that a few hundred AMC's will converge on the tiny town of Lawrenceville, PA. If you have always wanted to attend one of Gordy's shows but haven't been able, this one will be the one you'll really regret if you don't go! Next to the shows in Kenosha, this has always been my favorite. It has hospitality and camaraderie that you won't find at any other show.

AMEN Joe!

SC/R owners!  This is your 50th birthday party!! get your car there.  Push it, drag it, drive it, whatever.  All conditions and variations are requested to attend!  It's a celebration of 50 years of surviving the brutal life these cars lived! It doesn't matter the condition they are in.  I know we have AT LEAST one "barn find" car coming - hopefully more!  Not to mention the parts availability!

I hope everyone is just about ready to pack and leave for the SC/R & SS/AMX 50th Reunion event!

If you are still on this fence - here are a few spy photos I took Friday night of just a sampling of what awaits your effort to come!

Tshirts for the event!  Sorry about the rotation - no matter what I did I couldn't get to flipAngryAngryAngry

A very small peak inside:

We are expecting (30- 35) SC/Ramblers; (4) 67 X Code Americans; at least (4-5) SS/AMXs; (3) Vintage AMC Funny Cars; several top named race cars, and much much more!

One last party at Chilson Motors.  You DON"T want to miss this one!

Thanks to Gordy and the fam for all they have done and do for the AMC hobby, er I should say Family...

HISTORY will definitely be made!

I expect at least the following:

1)  Lawrenceville, PA will have the largest population ever in its history!
2)  Chilson Motors will become the largest (original) AMC dealership in history on Aug. 31!
3)  It will be the largest single gathering of SC/Ramblers ever
4)  It will be the largest ever gathering of X Code 67 Americans
5)  It will be the most SS/AMXs at a AMC dealership ever
6)  It may just be the most fun the AMC community has ever had
7)  ??

Maybe someone else has some historic predictions to make!!

Weather forecast for Saturday:  Party Cloudy and 75F, with a 7mph breeze!!!

$800 for a 23 hour flight to get there....or over a $1000 for a "short" 8 hour flight. :( Guess I'll have to settle for the Concours about an hour and a half from home.

As luck would have it....

I headed out on my 600+ mile road trip to Chilson's this morning and stopped to add some air to one of my tires (new, purchased two months ago) and found a screw in the sidewall. Looks like an hour + delay to get another mounted. Hoping the rest of the trip rolls smoother...

To everyone attending.... Be safe on the roads, it's a busy travel weekend.

Some quickie maps to help first time attendees.

Coming from north or south on Rt 15 (Corning or Williamsport).  Take the Lawrenceville Exit just inside the PA border at NY, go to the bottom of the ramp and turn east towards town.  Trailer parking will come up first on the right.  Drivers keep going to dealership to be parked.

As I understand it as of last weekend, we are thinking about putting the SC/Rs at the end of dealership closest to the intersection, all other cars will probably enter on the west end of dealership.

Will there be parking available for spectator vehicles

Posted By: kcsamc
Date Posted: Aug/29/2019 at 12:00pm
There is not designated parking for spectators.  You will have to have to find parking around town.  Please do not block open businesses or in front of the dealership please.

For ANYONE driving an AMC family vehicle up through 1988 - PLEASE just join the show - it is not judged and ALL AMC family cars are welcome, so get an automatic spot in the show to park on site - no matter the condition.  If it gets you there - get it in the show.

Got home yesterday afternoon after a safe trip both ways.  What an absolutely great show!  From the Friday cruise to the Saturday show at Chilson's old dealership.  Gordy's collection is amazing!  Great cars at both shows and even more important great people.  A huge thank you to Gordy for putting on this show and all the people who worked very hard to make this happen! Glad I was able to attend and be a part of it.

Got to the show on Saturday morning.  Parked across the street at an old Tire Shop.

Walking across, just blew my away seeing all the SC/Ramblers on the corner :)  Just
a sea of red, white and blue.

Show was great, a lot of really nice cars.

Ran into a few AMC friends that I hadn't seen in a while.

First time to the Chilson Show, and I'm glad I was able to make this one!

Hopefully the rumors were true that Gordy might do another show.  Not sure if I'll see so many
SC/Ramblers in one spot again though :)

The food spread that Gordy put out was great, and the dealership was a cool place to walk through and check out!

Steve
