me either, but i have title in hand to proove it's a1967, but the door tag says model:#5- 68/79. From what i undestand its model 5 of al preproduction run in late 66 to 67 to tour so that the final version could go into production, thats what i was told when contacted jeep corp to gain info, no vin on or at bottom of windshield in front of drivers side dash either, just a serial # out on the coil spring housing under hood on passenger side , and considering that the vehicle was only manufactured from 68-79, kinda makes it look like it is, and they knew that the production was only going to run and exact amount of predetermined time..

What is the VIN and info from door tag???....many here would be interested.  A Ford T-10 is different then a AMC T-10 in front case, input shaft, tail shaft housing and main shaft that would interface with the driveshaft.

The were early 68 Javelin's that were title in some states as 1967, since they were sold in 1967....but the car is a 1968 model year.

Girlfriend/wife's first car titled 1967 290 3 speed. I always thought it was a mistake by the Licencing Department. It did not have a VIN but the mechanic (my Dad) that certified it used the door tag number.
It was all Caravel Blue, engine and body, white rally stripes, magnum 500 wheels.
Wish I had that car today - lots of good times!

wow, that's really interesting. that is definitely the odl rambler serial tag location. there is also an alternate serial location, on pre-64 americans its under the voltage regulator up on the firewall, and on those and later cars it's under the steering box (less convenient). those are metal-stamped into the unibody.

with today's computerized standarized everything it's easy to forget just how "old world" AMC was, they probably wouldn't have serialized cars of the feds didn't make them. the earlier you go, the more random it gets when you take stuff apart. i still suspect there's two different bell depths on the pre-64 american manual trans cars. but not enough people to take measure, ments!

today we expect our fillings to have a serial number, date code, and downloadable flash updates. then it was "get it up on the lift and pull it, see what's in there" then go to the parts store.

congrats on having a cool weird car. it's nice to own something that doesn't exist!

All 1968 AMX's and Javelin's had the "Primary" VIN Addressograph Embossed Stainless Steel VIN Plate Spot Welded  to the Passenger Side Spring Tower.  Can you share some pics of the Plate and Door Tag???
