Going to replace the rocker studs on my 360 with new 7/16" studs.  I was planning to use the Comp Cam die cast aluminum 1.6 roller rockers which need a 7/16" stud, but does not state what effective length needs to be.

Do I need 1.75 or 1.9 effective length studs for roller rockers?  Or, is it brand specific?

Definitely going with ARP.  Anyone have a part number?

Thanks.

ARP # 100-7101 7/16 for SB Ford worked for me with Harland Sharp Roller Rockers.
Before I had those I used Crane Hi-Intensity SBC Geometry Roller Rockers with
Moroso # 67820 7/16 BBC Studs which were a smidge short, iirc from 10+ years ago...
The Poly Locks were on less than enough threads with the HS Rockers...
The 0.20" longer SB Ford Studs worked had better Poly Lock Thread engagement.
My old set-up with the SBC geometry Crane Hi-Intensity Rockers was "off" on geometry
to my surprise but did see maybe 20k miles use, the Ford Geometry HS Rockers were much better
but it required different Rocker Studs and different length Pushrods
but the overall geometry was much better.

Thanks for the reply.  Looks like Summit also carries ARP sets with a 2.0" and 2.35" effective length as well, but the price more than doubles for a set of 16.  I'd like a set of the Harlan Sharp's (or better yet a set of Scorpions...) but don't think it's in the budget or I will see a lot of sustained high RPM to justify them.

The Comp Die Cast High-energy Rockers seem to get fairly high marks so I think I am going with them and the 1.90" ARP 7/16 studs's.

I have to ask if you're using early heads already set up for individual rockers?  If you have heads that have the bridged rockers, additional machining and guide plates are required.

I used early (1970) heads with a 1.91 length stud with Crane Gold rockers and .100" longer than stock pushrods in my AMX.

Yes I have the individual studs.  Engine is an early '72 360.

Thanks for the info.  I ordered the 1.90" 7/16 ARP studs.
