Have a 74 AMX that has parts of the interlock system removed (relay, seat sensors, some wiring). From the TSM, (Fig 3-37 and 3-155) it appears the key wire is the grn w Tracer from the ignition switch and the grn wire to the S terminal on the starter solenoid. Inside, the logic module is in the back seat and the 2 connectors to it (Fig 3-155 shows one for sensors and one for rest) under the dash...the one that runs to the sensors is intact, the other cut off from the wires. Hard to tell from the figure where all of the wires run and if any are key. Really interested in the red wire that fig 3-155 shows bringing power from the battery and the yellow wire that has a 4 amp fuse in it. What wires are important and which can be ignored. Thanks. There is a AMC Service Bulletin that deactivated the Seat Belt Interlock System, basically you took of the fender well relay and installed jumper block. You can also disconnect all the belts from the wiring harness. I don't have copy of bulletin handy. ------------- Ross K. The easy way is to think smarter. The starter trigger wire is always there, it's just being bypassed. But, you can BYPASS the Bypass. On the fender relay there should be two connectors. Both connectors have a dark green wire. Cut the wires so they no longer go into the relay, then join the wires together. Easy. Peasy. Japanesie. If I'm not mistaken, there is a TSB that does just this. ------------- I am genetically incapable of being Politically Correct. |
