Mike has invited me multiple times over the years - geesh, I've got to try to make it one of these times.
All of my racing was years ago.......... and deemed illegal by the local authorities........
But it would be cool to see what the 73 can do.
Maybe I'll have a car back together by then.

Well maybe I need to try to line up a place to stay. I can make it to Ohio in a long day of driving - about 12 hours with fuel stops.

Actually that would make my wife feel better  - I have EDS and it's a problem on long drives....... (plus I get lost in a 3 meter by 3 meter square room LOL)
We'll see if the LS engine in my little Chevy can handle it HAHA

I nearly forgot that you would likely, or possibly, be coming within 12-15 minutes of me on I80.

I travel I-80 to 74 to 70. The little LS will not keep up to the mighty Power Stroke BUT I can just idle along so you would be able to keep up. Seriously, I would have no issue with a convoy or if I see you along the route to slow down and make sure you get there ok :)

Will need to know though as I might go through N Dakota this year for a change and swing by Kenosha etc.

Can't wait to see ya again Tony, it is a few motels somewhat close to Mikes and the track a lot of people are staying at. Longest traveler in hours/miles will get a kickass rambler model.

Guess you won't be trekking through Iowa then.
Assuming I'd go my route would by necessity by I80 east to likely 74.....
Still have to look into a place to stay and that sort of thing but it should work out.

If you were for sure coming Bill and needed a convoy to help make the trip easier I would be more than happy to head down through South Dakota and Iowa. I was only changing things up as I've been through the south both ways the past 3 years! Figured I could stop in K-town to go to the museum etc and get some more pictures.

I80 in east Iowa gives truckers a run for their money and tests their engines.........
My previous pickup, the 95 Ford with 351, couldn't keep up the speed limit when towing a car. It might do 55 or 60 if you pushed it hard. This truck wraps up to 5 or 6K and handles it nicely.

It appears I may have a place to stay - a little drive away but still even 45 minutes is nothing after an all-day drive.

Bill, the new truck with it's 925 ft lbs of torque and 440 hp eats those hills in 6th gear with the cruise on!

I'd expect nothing less with that truck. Maybe some of the OTR drivers around here need to have you assist! LOL. Seriously, I know there's no match as far as load pulling, etc. - you'd be able to yank a house clean off its foundation with that truck. I worked with a fellow (who retired 3 years before I did) who had a similar truck and the huge camper he pulled - effortlessly - it was amazing. It was smooth and quiet. We took it to some of our field offices when we needed to handle major network upgrades - because it was so comfortable and actually economical on fuel, too. (of course he grumbled about the new filters and this and that it required - but then he grumbled a lot anyway)

Judging by your route, it looks like you're planning to be at Rambleramma. I haven't done that show in few years, but it might be worth the drive just to see Peggy. I'm about 3 1/2 hours away.

Rambleramma is definitely on the route! It is one I've wanted to attend for a long time and it all fell into place to make it this year. I'm getting excited already and the trip is 2 months away! LOL
