Anyone know about why my the 1988 eagle NP129 has a gradual whine in 2 wheel drive it also does it in 4 wheel drive we changed out the u joints and the transfer case has 145 k on it , the noise is coming from the transfer case ,it is not clunking. any help ?????

check the fluid level?

fluid level was full and clean
