I have just put a World Class T-5 into my 66 Rambler convertible.  The T-5 came out of a 1989 Mustang and the American had a 3 speed.  What speedometer cable should I use?  Thanks, Tony

If the Mustang had an electric speedo, you're boned.

I think a 1989 T5 has a regular speedo drive.

I would try the existing 1966 cable first. If it is too short, a cable from a T10 equipped car, like a Javelin, may work.

Is this an actual variation change to worry about on a RWD AMC? I just noticed there wasn't anything to this because I was swapping a T-5 into my Eagle. Transfercase out, transfercase in again. Ermm

I have an 1989 T5 out of a mustang in my 73 gremlin. It was as simple as plugging my factory cable into the T5. Like someone else suggested, if yours is too short you could try a cable out of another model.

Tremec has a bunch of different driven and driver gears for this application. If you give them the tire diameter and the rear end gear ratio, they can supply you with the correct gear so you get the correct speed reading on your speedometer

Take the ELECTRONIC sensor out of the trans and use a standard mechanical speedo cable.
You  may need to have the speedometer side of the cable changed to match what is in the car.
Borg Warner did not change the trans for ELECTRONIC speedos.  The car manufacturer put a sensor in the hole.
