I am trying to identify the speedometer gear shown below. I believe they are Mopar TF904 and possibly TF727. I do not know what years they were used however. Looking to find a 31 and 32 tooth similar to these to correct my speedonreadout. Thanks in advance. Walt  ------------- Walt L. |

Those are for the Borg/Warner auto and manual transmissions, at least I think so. The 727 gears are mounted on a shaft which fits in a housing. That assembly mounts to the tailshaft housing. -Steve- |

Actually those are for a Torqueflight, 904/998/727 in 1974 all models, then in a weird order for Pacer. These used a very crappy designed Plastic Speedometer adapter and special cable.....they has many leakage issues, went away from them and then came back, which I never under stood. Walt they are very hard to find, I have a few I have saved but not the tooth count you are looking for. ------------- Ross K. All, thank you for your replies. So if I purchase a conversion cable for torqueflite to early 70s pedometer does it come with the newer stem type torqueflite gear adapter for a 904 transmission? Walt ------------- Walt L. |

Not sure what model you are working on, but the best solution it to buy the 72-73 and post 74 Aluminum adapter/gear set up......they are all over eBay and then use the early cable that screws on to match. They make every gear you can imagine and are near leak proof......as long as you are not concerned that it is completely original. ------------- Ross K. Does having a TF trans in a 1970 Javelin disqualify me from being concours correct ;) Yea, I know it does. I have the other style TF speedo drive housing you are referring to M-coupe, and a few stem type gears. Was hoping to find a gear for my current setup but it is looking like a lost cause situation. You can convert using this set up and gears are on eBay from 26-45 tooth.  Hope this helps. ------------- Ross K. As I stated before 74 Matador uses a unique plastic gear.....how many tooth are you looking for, I do a have a few of the correct style for 1974......PM me and I check what I have...I have been able to help the last two folks looking for a 74 model. ------------- Ross K. The possible conversion gear Ross showed you above looks to me to be the standard Chrysler/Jeep drive used from about 1980 on. This gear chart shows available gears for that drive. Just so you know if you do convert to the earlier typical Torqueflight gear set up, you will need a proper speedometer cable to interface the speedometer.....that can be tough and expensive too...been there and done that. ------------- Ross K.
