Just got my 327 back from the exhaust shop, went with Hooker Aero Flow Chamber muffler, one-in two-out.  It's an f-body style muffler.

Thanks guys! I think I need some carb tuning, don't think it's getting enough fuel, but it's running pretty strong for now.  I'll get a full carb and ignition timing tune here shortly!

Sounds like an idling locomotive. Nice.

Where did you find a cam blank, who ground it for you, and what are the specifications?

I sent them a factory 327 cam, have an extra laying around as well.

Sent it to Oregon Cam Grinding: http://www.oregoncamshaft.com/

Went pretty mild on the specs because vacuum brakes and such: 206/212 @ .050”, 250/260 adv, .431”/.443” lift, 110 sep

I had them do a 327 cam for me as well, but I haven't swapped it in yet. Last time I was up there, they had a pile of 327 cams. Great guys over there.

They did a quality job for sure! I haven't had it long enough to claim that the tappets haven't gone flat or anything like that, but no issues so far.

Sounds great. How does it sound at higher revs?
And how many boxes are in there?

It just hit high revs today, I'll get some exhaust clips.

What do you mean by boxes?

Stock 327 cam is 244* adv., .381" lift.

Stock 360 cam is 263* adv., .425" lift.

Your custom 327 cam is 250/260* adv., .431/.443" lift.

So spec wise, its pretty much a stock 360 cam and yet its enough to make a 327 lope at idle? Doesn't that seem a little weird?

Definitely not a sound one heard every day. 327s have a very distinctive sound anyway, so the sound of a cammed 327 is definitely a new level of unique sound. I don't think any other engine out there sounds like one of these.

I mean how many silencers? My stock 327 has the single tail pipe and two factory boxes and it's very quiet, too much so for my taste.

I like to hear that rumble.

It's very mild, but it was running with a poorly tuned carb, I'll take another video soon and post it.

It sounds fairly similar to stock now that tuned, but it's tuned around 600-700 rpms in gear at idle, 900-1000 in park or neutral.

Ahh I gotcha, I just have a single Hooker Aero Chamber Muffler.  It's an f-body style muffler, so it's very similar to the stock muffler setup.  I'll get some detailed pictures!

Here's a little video of the setup:
