Welcome to our new Tool Time forum.

This forum is for Reviews and Evaluations of tools used in the automotive trades - body repair, engine and mechanical repair, electricial, etc.

All entries here MUST consist of and include the following or they may be moved/removed:

Tool name (adjustable wrench, spring compressor, 2-tom transmission jack, etc.)
Tool brand (Craftsman, SnapOn, Mac, Crescent, etc.)
Where the tool was purchased (store or dealer name and city)
Cost of the tool (approx value if you inherited it - best guess if you don't know)
Pros - what you found GOOD about the tool (It didn't let the spring slip, jack let the car down smoothly, not jerky)
Cons - what you found bad about the tool (the ratchet skipped teeth and was hard to get sockets back off of, the jack wheels were too small)
Recommend to friends? - (Yes or No)
Summary - (was it worth the money, would you buy it again? How often do you see yourself using it?)

What this area is NOT for:

It is NOT a gripe area or a place to argue about a tool.

Debate is good, but stick to the general rules of debate - point, counterpoint, back your points with facts, please.

Please don't simply say "their tools suck", tell us why, and how you know - first-hand experience only, please!

Generally, try to follow the same sort of rules and guidelines that a place like This Old House or other online tool review areas may follow.

This MAY prove as a valuable reference for someone looking for the same tool, or who needs to work on a certain item, but is unsure of what tool may be satisfactory.

We say "automotive trade" but if you have some experiences with circular saws, for example, and feel you can write up a good review of your new saw, go for it! Folks here are NOT strictly car folks - they come from all walks of life. But if you are a brain surgeon, I doubt too many folks HERE will find your review on your new laser scalpel very helpful
