Hey Ramblerites,

I have once read a cure for my "Weather Eye" gauge issues, could someone walk me through this?
I don't have a tester, so that route is out for me. Any fixes that don't involve going back to school for?
I'd like to hear from similar owners. Thank you.

Mark

Temp and fuel gauges work off a voltage regulator. If both are reading low/empty the regulator is probably bad. Due to the age of the car I'd replace it anyway: http://worldpowersystems.com/AMC/dashreg/index.html

After you do that, see if the gauges work. If still having problems, ground the wire at the sending unit. Temp is easiest to get to. Just pull it off and ground with the switch on. The gauge should quickly rise to the top (hot) and peg. If it does, the sending unit is bad. If not, the gauge itself is bad.  If it doesn't move at all the wire between gauge and sender is bad.
