Does anyone know if Gordy Chilson still puts on his show in Lawrenceville PA?  Last time I went it was over Labor Day weekend a few years ago  and I would like to go again if it is still happening.

Thanks

Sorry to say Gordy stopped hosting the show a couple of years ago. When I talked to him in Cleveland last year he indicated that he had no plans at that time to start it back up again.

That was one of the very best AMC shows in my opinion. Gordy always got some amazing cars to show up, and he & his family really rolled out the red carpet for everyone.

Thanks for the memories Gordy & family!!!

Too bad. I can understand though as it was a huge time commitment and expense. Always loved going there.

Used to love going to that show. The Chilson family had an amazing museum (showroom) that had the coolest AMC memorabilia which was probably my favourite part of the show. My plan was to "unveil" my car there for the first time when it was done but that took 5 years longer than I thought it would!! Gord and his family were first class people hosting this show.

The Chilson show was always my favorite but it was a huge undertaking and I understand the decision to discontinue it. Gordy is still there supporting the AMC hobby.

It was also my favorite show as well. No trophies, just hanging out with a bunch of AMC people. Was my wife's favorite show, too. We both miss it dearly.

All,

I spoke to Gordy in the spring at Carlisle and he said that he was going to do his how again next year.

He didn't give me a date.

I didn't want to spill the beans before Gordy made the announcement but since 1ManGang did it already, I wanted to let everyone know that the 50th Anniversary of the S/C Rambler is going to be the theme for the Chilson's show next year. It will most likely be the last show that will be held at the Chilson's. If you've never been to one of their shows, you should really try to make next year's show, you won't regret going....

I just acquired a nice original SC/Rambler and would consider coming.

Is there any contact info?

Thanks in advance

prototypefan, I've been told that the show will be August 31st, in Lawrenceville Pa.

I will say that the Chilson events in the past are in my top 5 all time favorite AMC shows.  Right up there with Kenosha 2002 & the AMO show in Denver Pa in 1994.

Yes - Cruise Night is Friday August 30th at family Chrysler Dealership in Corning NY and the main event down in little Lawrenceville, PA on Saturday August 31, 2019.

This is the last one and a blow out at that - can't be missed, the premier AMC show for 2019.

If you have a SC/Rambler, head over to the SC/Rambler Facebook page and vote on the poll regarding bring the SC/R, as we are tracking the total attendance of the cars.  We would like to see 40 SC/Ramblers for the Anniversary - that would be about 10% of the total known to exist.  BUT!!! we won't have that many unless you make the effort!!!

http://www.facebook.com/groups/1498349307068548/" rel="nofollow - http://www.facebook.com/groups/1498349307068548/

Push it, drag it, drive it - just get it there.  not running?  Get it on the trailer, lots of people will help you unload and load....

That should get you interested.  Miss it and you will regret it forever.  Make it and you'll have memories forever.  Choose wisely!

North of Lawrenceville there are many hotels in Corning, NY. To the south a couple of hotels are in Mansfield, PA.

Looks to be about a 5-6 hour drive for me. I've been to Carlisle a couple of times, which is a nice 8 hour drive in good weather - beautiful countryside.

The drive would be worth it just to see Kevin's SC. I did a 3 1/2 hour drive to see Tony's AMX last year, so road trips are not a problem for me. An overnight in Corning will give me a chance to pick up some cookware too. Wink

The all makes Friday cruise night in has in the past been at the dealership that is just south of Corning, north of Lawrenceville. I arrive from the north on Friday, get a room in Corning and go to the Friday night show. Then I get up on Saturday, check out of the hotel, and go to Gordy’s. When that is over, I head for home.

The Friday evening "all makes" car cruise is typically held at the Chilson-Wilcox Chrysler dealership located at 660 Addison Rd, Painted Post, NY 14870.

The Saturday AMC event is typically held at the old Chilson AMC dealership located at approximately 8 Cowanesque St, Lawrenceville, PA 16929. The two locations are about 11 miles apart.

Since I have not seen an "official" flyer I can only assume that it will be held at the same locations as the previous events.

Tony - make it happen - you won't want to miss this one!

By my finger count now of committed to cars and ones I know are coming, we already have over 20 SC/Ramblers planning on being in attendance - that's a good start on what could well be upwards of 40 if others make the same commitment.

From what I have learned from a few individuals, we will also have (3) factory 1967 American X code (343) cars in attendance.  These alone will be a super rare treat, all the rest is just bonus!!!

There is one thing for certain, plenty of AMC horsepower will be on display at this event.  Vote your attendance status at the site above and book your rooms now!

Many SS/AMX owners have requested an area at the Chilson Reunion 50th Anniversary of the SC/Rambler for their cars. I expect there will be a large contingent attending. All AMC cars are welcome.

Many people have called me about tent camping. For people who would like to tent camp coming to the 50th Anniversary of the SC/Rambler show. There are no bathroom facilities available at the ballpark where there is parking for motorhomes and trailers. There is a Pennsylvania State Park at Cowanesque Lake about two miles west of the show, just the other side of the interstate ideal for tent camping. They have restroom and shower facilities. I have been there for car shows and it is most pleasant.
