Great News!
Always enjoyed the location, being able to get close up to the action and the number of vendor that would show up. Marking my calendar now.

What was wrong with the Mason Dixon location?

East Coasters not showing up because it was a couple hours extra travel time?

Posted By: one bad rambler
Date Posted: Dec/21/2014 at 12:47pm
It`s a great show at either location. For me the added travel time made it a harder trip but i guess it all depend`s on your budget and what you use to haul...

I made the trip from MA to Mason-Dixon once. It was about 9 hours instead of 7 1/2 to 8 to Cecil. Beautiful track! I'd go to either place, but Cecil is that much closer for me. I'm going to try to bring a car to race, but if not, I'll at least try to bring some parts to sell.

I would be interested in more info for the show. I will mark my calendar and start looking for info.

I just got an old wagon and have her running again... it would be fun to see some of those nice old vehicles!

Hi, Just wondering how long this show goes for, as we would love to come, but it is a long way to come.
Do you know of other amc events or people to visit while we are over there?

Hi Doug,  where in NZ are you?  I was born in the Northand (Warkworth) and still have family there.   I'm presently restoring a 69 AMX. Can't be too many of them in NZ.  PM me if you'd like to chat so as not to hijack this thread.  I don 't know much about the All AMC Day as I'm on the other side of the country from Maryland.

And 3 are canadian 69's, and 2 american 68's., plus 2 68 Javelins.

In the past is fairly short.  Gates open around 9 AM and by mid afternoon thats pretty much it.  In past years the tracks normal Saturday evening program goes on so the AMC part ends pretty early.  Thats why I haven't been to this event since the move to Mason Dixon dragway.  4 hours drive each way doesn't work out so well for such a short event.  Now that its back at Cecil county, the drive for me is only 2 hours max so I like the change.

I just went thru all posts and did not see anything for it

When I have gone when at this track I drove down & back so don't know what hotel was used in the past. Then again I was a lot younger then

I am sure Don will post up the flyer and details but you may want to check out the tracks web site to see what they list for hotels.

Sorry to say I can not make it this year because of the move south.

According to Google maps, at exit 100A, (since they have been changing exit numbers lately, make sure you are on North East Rd) North East Rd,  there are three hotels, a Comfort Inn & Suites, a Best Western and a Holiday Inn Express Inn & Suites. Hope this helps. See you there. I will most likely be bringing Casper.

OK,I'm confused, last month I received an email saying that the "5th Annual East Coast AMC Day will be returning to Mason Dixon raceway on June 13 2015" so wich is it Cecil County or Mason Dixon? Or have we further broken up into clicks and now there is 2 east coast All AMC days? a little clarification would be greatly appreciated

2 separate shows/races. One in June and one in July. No reason not to go to both.

You're right, no reason not to go to both, I was unaware of the fact there'd be 2 separate events.

I'm also thinking that with 2 events attendance will be lower at both this year than we had at just mason Dixon last year, I don't want that to kill the possibility of future shows just because they have been split.

Or am I just being pessimistic?

The All AMC Day 2015 at Cecil County is less than a month away.. I was hoping to attend and even get a vendor space but haven't seen or heard alot of interest in this event. I am trying to gauge the amount of participation that is expected and whether or not I should load up my truck and drive down from central NJ to attend.. In the past this has always been a good event but with the Mason Dixon event a couple of weeks ago I am wondering if it will effect the turnout

When I have gone in the past it has always been a good turn out venders, car show & racing.

When it moved south it was a little to far for me. Now that I don't live in CT it is too far but just started a new job and cant get the time off either, maybe next year.

Hope pictures will be posted for us that cant make it.

My memory ain't what it used to be. I forgot to mention that I also met 78 AMX FAN and his sons at the meet. Over all a great time was had by all. I was afraid the turnout was going to be small but I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe we had more folks that just couldn't drive the extra couple of hours to Hagerstown.

I am glad the meet was back at Cecil County again.. I got a vender spot. sold some stuff, talked to a lot of great folks, watched some good AMC drag racing, looked at some nice show cars and had a fun day. Unfortunately I didn't take and pictures. I hope someone did and can share them with us.Thanks to all the sponsors and the AMC clubs for doing a great job. Looking forward to next year already.

Before I get into the details and numbers, I just want to take a moment to thank Harley Smith and his team from the Potomac Ramblers for all their hard work and dedication in helping our Mid-Atlantic Classic AMX Club keep the "All-AMC Day" event going during the last few years while the event jumped around from Capitol Dragway to Mason-Dixon Dragway.  I'd also like to thank the Cunninghams (who owned Capitol Dragway at the time) along with Elmer and Kathy Wachter from Mason-Dixon Dragway for working with our "Consortium" of AMC clubs and hosting the event during those years.  Both are great racing facilities and went above and beyond expectations to help make our events a success.

This year’s 24th Annual "All-AMC Day" event was held at Cecil County Dragway and turned out to be a really nice day for the Mid-Atlantic Classic AMX Club as we made our return to the venerable northeastern Maryland facility.  The weather was great with bright sunshine and warm temps all day.  The turnout, although previous years provided more participation both on and off the track, was good, especially for being our first year back at Cecil.

The Show Field hosted 23 cars with Miranda Ward's little Rambler taking the Best of Show honors and a $100.00 bonus award sponsored by John W. Keplinger and Sons.  Miranda is the niece of Keith Ward who was a regular competitor in his white AMX with us for years before he passed away suddenly a few years back.  Keith was a great guy who left us too soon and we all missed seeing him at the event.  In addition, Keith's daughter Reagan had her Dad's AMX back on the track with us making some passes last Saturday.  It was great to see the Ward family still involved with our event in their AMCs.

We had 11 vendors in the Flea Market portion of the event with a wide variety of parts available to buy, sell, trade and "negotiate" for.

On the track, we sold 19 Tech cards and when the call was made for Eliminations, 14 cars lined up for first round.  We only had 2 cars show for the Electronics (Super) class so, they were both gracious enough to race "Old School" with their buttons & boxes unplugged and leaving off the footbrake instead (Thanks Kenny Testa!).  The Final was like "Old Home Week" with Dave Bailey in his "X-Rated X" coming out the Event Winner over Steve Sachs Jr's familiar 10-second white Matador.  Blaine Hertzog in his SC Hornet and Aris Asdourian in his SS/C AMX were the event Semi-Finalists.  Congratulations also to Nick Sukico from Long Island, NY who brought his 9-second street-driven AMX to Cecil and took home the $100.00 Fastest Street Car bonus sponsored again this year by Ann and Steve Erb’s E&E Metal Fab Inc.

While on the subject of sponsors, we would like to thank them all for their support:

·        Rich LaMont’s 422 Motorsports

·        John W. Keplinger & Sons

·        E&E Metal Fab Inc.

·        Hi-Fi Sales

·        Joe’s In-Home TV Repair

·        Manoa Beverage

·        DB4 Enterprises

Thanks to everyone that made the trip to attend our 24th Annual event.  Whether to Race, Show, Vend or just hang out, we appreciate all of you joining us.  Thanks also go out to Jimmy Halsey, his wife Cathy, Matt Wilson and the Cecil County Staff for all their help and cooperation.  Next year’s 2016 edition will be the 25th Annual and we are already kicking ideas around to make the Silver Anniversary of this meet something extra special.  Kudos to Joe Rocchi, Scott Weaver, Larry Blatt, George Watts and everyone else who helped out for all their efforts with organizing and keeping the event moving while I was splitting time between the AMC meet and the Mid-Atlantic .90 Association racing events going on at the same time.  Keep your eyes and ears peeled for information about our 2016, 25th Annual "All-AMC Day".  One thing's for sure, you won't want to miss it!

I buzzed by on my scooter and saw you there with a bunch of people around your Vendor spot.  By the time I got back over there again, you were in the wind....  Glad you made it Ross, we'll have to catch up again sometime soon.  Thanks for coming!
