Local Parts List. (meaning local made parts that were used on local built AMC's)

This information I will start scanning from the original AMI only folder that Mascot Motors purchased from AMI back in the early 80's. Now in the hands of Rambler Spares. Much information would be important to local built AMC's restorers to make there Ramblers correct. Over A period of time, I will be scanning bit and pieces. If anyone need any Aussie part numbers, let me know and I will try and find that number for you. This folder of about 300 to 400 page covers all model from 1961 to 1972.

here we go

Note: All pages are of A4 size. Some pages have little info so I have decided to copy the info only and left out the blank parts of the pages to save space.

That's interesting, seems we only had the black and beige options, mine certainly looks like it was originally beige but had been sprayed/dyed black as some point in the past.

I have an original 67 to 70 Parts catalogue (actually I think it's only half of one) but it has the some pink pages too which I will email to your brother. Are the pink pages Aussie numbers?

This was in my 1960-65 parts book. Now, if we can find out what the "R" numbers cross over to Monroe or Gabriel numbers....

Thanks Huddy, Appreciate it. These could come in handy at some stage. Especially the toyota parts. I wonder if they are still available from toyota?

These PINK pages gives us a better understanding on how AMI built AMC's in Australia. We all can learn so much more about our own local built cars then ever before and how much they differ from US built versions.

Any requests let me know.

Yes that is correct, the pink pages are "mostly" aussie numbers. Some pages I have come across has a variety of numbers with these letters used in front. T= Toyota, R= Rambler, AUS = Australia. I have also spotted some Triumph part numbers being used on our Ramblers.

Well I'm certainly keen to see any more Javelin and AMX stuff, might find it's way onto the AustralianJavelins website if you don't mind, it's great information for someone trying to do a concourse resto.

I beleive they were aiming for a high level of Australian content in the Hornet to get impoty duty consessions, wonder how they got on. I'm surprised they didn't end up with Aussie Borg Warner diffs in them at some stage.

AMI also issued information, warranty claims and running changes to the dealers. I have quite a few from 1961 to 1977. Here's one about exhaust manifolds, and how they aren't going to replace them under warranty if the mechanic overtightened it.

I havnt bought one yet, but the falcon XW and XY washer bottle looks exactly the same as the washer bottles in both of my 1970 rambler rebels. The cars are also the same age so this would make sense if this is the case. Has anyone else come across this or actually bought one?

Some AMI trim fabric part numbers for seats etc with pictures. Note this is all I have and some samples are missing. It would be great if anyone out there may have some seat trim laying around that I could complete these AMI trim sample sheets.

Ah, looks like what I bought at Supercheap for my American, didn't cost me $65!
