Yes I have. They normally do a BBQ on the beach on Friday night. Looks like they are doing the Friday night cruise instead this year.

Me too! It's not a big show, but always worth going. During the summer there is a great cruise night every Friday at Rubys in Redondo Beach, I wonder if that is on the So Cal. AMC schedule?
There is usually 100 + very nice cars at Rubys on Friday nights during the summer if the weather is nice.
Cool

I've been to the daytime show at the Automobile Driving Museum a couple of times.  The museum's pretty cool--plenty of sorted oddball cars to look at.  Every Sunday you can get driven around the block in several cars of their choosing! The website is http://www.automobiledrivingmuseum.org/ - http://www.automobiledrivingmuseum.org/ .

The museum has limited car show parking in front and out back, but with organized parking, they get quite a few cars in the frontal area.

Last night I was looking at the flyer (on the So. CA. AMC website) telling about this show and see that they plan a cruise to Rubys in Redondo Beach after the car show ends on Saturday. Cruise night at Rubys is every Friday night and they usually get 100 + cars on Friday but still have pleanty of room in their parking lot. The bad thing about this is the car people around here (other then AMC car people) will have no idea there will be cool cars at Rubys on Saturday. And since Rubys is located at Kings Harbor and it is the weekend there will probably be a good number of trucks/ SUV's with boat trailers attached that will be taking up a lot of room in Rubys parking lot. Disapprove

If anyone is out this way on Friday night and want to see some really nice So. CA. street cars, check out Rubys at Kings Harbor in Redondo Beach. Watch out for the Redondo PD, they are very sneeky!!! They are usually pretty cool as long as you aren't doing stupid stuff. LOL

Also, If anyone is interested (and will be in this area on that Friday afternoon) and wants to take a  tour through Edelbrock please let me know. I think that can be arranged. Edelbrock is about 6-8 miles from Rubys, and about 10 miles from the Driving Museum.

Oh, and I highly recommend the "Green chilly cheese burger" and the "Hickory BBQ burger" at Rubys!!! Wink

I spoke with George a couple weeks back. He said that Car Craft/Hot Rod is sending out a crew to do a story with pics during the Friday cruise. They are said to be specifically interested in the AMC/Rambler cars. It could be an excellent chance to get your AMC in a national mag!

I wish I could, between taking my car to Reno 2 weeks ago and taking it to Oregon City in 2 weeks it has eaten up the show budget pretty good. I think it will be some local shows, some weekend cruises and the concours in September and that will be it for the year.

You can just leave the keys in that there SC/Rambler, Evil Smile I'm sure it will be safe Evil Smile Wink

I was hoping to have my 70 AMX drivable buy the show but that is not going to happen, so we are bringing the Javelin. I have another couple of months before the AMX will be drivable.

There are several good places very close by. Johnny Rockets, Cozy Mels (good Mexican food), Hustons, Sizzler, Chillys, PF Changs. They are all within 5 miles of the museum but they all have kind of tight parking lots that I wouldn't want to park any of my AMC's in. Too many careless idiots around!

I'm going to be out of town for the car show -- leaving for Wendover UT in the Rambler, in fact -- but turns out i will be able to make the Friday cruise. Do I need to sign up or anything? Or just show up?

Be warned, no one likes my car but me :-) It is anti-shiny. The muscle car people laugh cuz it's a 195.6 OHV (albeit hotrodded). I embarrass the resto people cuz it's all hacked up and modified. The import scene kids hate me cuz I use the wrong stuff from Japan. Flip it over though, and it's all go, and it's all AMC... lol.

Kudos to George and crew for putting on a great two day event.

Friday was the cruise-in...the street was blocked off and all cars were welcomed to the ADM (Automobile Driving Musesum) vicinity parking areas.  AMC cars were allowed to park directly in front of the museum and about fourteen showed up (pictures to follow in a day or so).  So many interesting cars, esp. AMC vehicles that don't show up to most car events.  One culinary roach coach for dinner and lots of car conversations into the evening.

Hot Rod magazine was there and took better pics than I could ever take, so here's a link to the Friday cruise-in:  http://www.hotrod.com/hot_rod_cruise_night/hrdp_1207w_july_2012_hot_rod_car_craft_cruise_night/" rel="nofollow - http://www.hotrod.com/hot_rod_cruise_night/hrdp_1207w_july_2012_hot_rod_car_craft_cruise_night/

The first car you'll see is Al's '68 AMX tribute car.

And, here's my car (glad he shot it in the waning hours of sunsetting light):  http://www.hotrod.com/hot_rod_cruise_night/hrdp_1207w_july_2012_hot_rod_car_craft_cruise_night/photo_52.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.hotrod.com/hot_rod_cruise_night/hrdp_1207w_july_2012_hot_rod_car_craft_cruise_night/photo_52.html

Saturday's show at was held at the ADM and about eighteen vehicles paid for admission (several were unwilling/unable to pay parked outside the gates).  Lots of interest in the cars and three peeps showed up, all of whom were restoring Scramblers and needed some assistance.  That was quite surprising (three in one day)!  The museum bbq-ed burgers and brots for lunch and trophies were handed out later.  All in all, it was pretty well organized and the ADM was a GREAT venue for a car show in Los Angeles.  George--let's do it again next year!

Yes, a big THANK YOU!!! to George Markos and the others involved in putting on the cruise night and AMC car show again this year. Clap

It was fun talking with other AMC'ers about their rides, and meeting forum members that I have only talked to here on the forum. My wife really enjoyed herself too. (I'm pretty lucky to have a wife who enjoys all this car stuff). The weather for the show was awsome, and the red white and blue was all around! I was hoping that Steve (Bikerfox) would leave his keys in his SC/Rambler, but no dice! LOL (Awsome car Steve!!!) I talked to several people who came up and said they were currently working on AMC projects at home. I'm sure a couple of them will be joining the forum shortly. One guy told me he was from NY. and is currently working on his 70 AMX.

I really enjoyed talking with Mike Pierce (Petes Patriot) and George Helmer who brought out the "Project Javelin" work in progress. Both of these cars have some great AMC racing History and I want to thank them both for bringing these cars out to share with us.

My wife and I are already looking forward to next years show!! Tongue

Thanks again to everyone for a great AMC filled weekend in So. California!!!!!!!!  Clap
