Finally! Thanks to Rich Freitag, Central New York AMC fanatics will have a place to gather, sell /trade AMC parts/cars, and show off their AMC's! Hopefully, this will become what the old Albany show once was.. And with Gordy's show on hiatus, the upstate NY AMCer's need a AMC show fix!  This meet may be the starting point of a much needed NY AMC club, who knows? Thanks, hope to see some local and distant AMC forum members there!! .....Scott

I look forward to it. I think it is a week before the national show near Boston.

Sounds great to me.  I have been hoping for an AMC club here in NY.   I know there are quite a few AMC fans in the Albany area.  Sign me up and let me know what I can do to helpApproveApprove - JJ

I was thinking the same thing about the show before the show.
When I looked up where it is it is a little over 4 hours away. Dont know if I will have my car on the road, dont think so, but if I have the money may take a ride up.

How can I become a member of the new AMC CNY club.....I just found and bought a 72 Gremlin that I want to show at local shows in 2012(I live in Baldwinsville). This car has been a dream of mine for 35 years;  my first car was a Gremlin back in the 1970's. Could someone please hook me up...thank-you

Hi,Rich Freitag here , I just finished a cup of DUNKEN DONUTS coffee ,still working on gathering up stuff for the car show, old pictures of all my drag cars, friends cars, before I go any farther the word drag means drag racing not the other. The time has come to step up and put a car show on for us AMC people, time to show your stuff ,oops, again your AMC hard at work,it's tough to be politically correct.Any hoo I've got some great music lined up from a-z, yes abba to zappa ,some country,oldies,70's,80's,Metal etc, there's something for everyone, also there will be a suprise guest, most of the money from the car show will go to local chairitys,SPCA,cancer, burn unit, any other sugestions let me know ,now get out in the garage and start working on your AMC .

I know of at least 5 people that aren't on the forum that are planning on going.

The guys at my old job called me the other day, a Roadway truck driver stopped in looking for me and dropped off a flyer for the show. The funny thing is I haven't worked there in 4 years, and I don't know any truck drivers, so word has to be getting out somehow!

Here's something I want to mention about this Western NY show. It is the Sunday before the AMO national show in Boston. If you are travelling long distance to the show in Boston, this Western NY show would be a great stop in route to Boston. I am planning on going to the show in Syracuse and continuing on to Boston right after the show ends. I know that there are a few other guys that are planning to do the same thing. It does require a week off to make this trip but a lot of AMC'ers leave Tues. or Wed. to go to the National. A few extra days off will net you another show that is shaping up to be a great, well attended show....

Three and a half weeks away. I've got confirmation of people traveling to the show in Boston that are making the stop in Syracuse on the way so it is shaping up to be a great show. There are also a lot of Western NY AMC'ers that will be in attendance that won't be making the trip to Boston so you are not going to see all of the same cars at both shows. This also holds true with parts vendors I know at least three guys that are planning to vend in Syracuse that won't be in Boston so the parts won't be the same either. If you are traveling through Syracuse on the way to Boston, it'll definitely be worth the stop!

Looking forward to the event.  It's hard to believe it's only 5 days away.

I'll be bringing a bunch of parts to sell.  If you want to see some of the things I'll be bringing, check out the For Sale portion of the board, title "Parts with pics - Can deliver to Oneida Shores".
I'm open to finalizing a purchase prior to the event and simply bringing it with me to avoid shipping costs.

I also have a number of heavier items (blocks, cranks) I'm looking to sell.  I WON'T be bringing them unless someone reqests an item specifically.

ATTENDEES: What specific parts will you be looking for in the swapmeet?

Thanks Rich that was a fun day and I thought a pretty decent turn out for a first time event and considering it is so close to Andover I am sure several people held off for that meet. I  was happy to meet several forum members and finally get to see some of the really nice AMC`s that I rarely get to see for real. Hopefully this event will be on again next year and I only have one request and that is turn down the heat please Wink Maybe next year I will remember to put the SD card in my camera Embarrassed anybody get any pics ?

Thanks for the great Job today, Rich, along with all of your helpers/sponsors....
The nice turnout showed the need/want for for an All AMC show in this area, and also the promise of a successful new AMC club in the near future!
I had a great time talking to friends I hadn't seen in years, (or only see once a year) putting names to faces, and checking out a great selection of AMC's I've never even seen before! (at least not in person)
Also thanks to the parts vendors that set up, without you guys, our favorite rides would not be nearly as road-ready or show-worthy!

Was a great show.....I didn't get any pictures as I  assumed Kevin had his SD card in his....LOL
Vending was OK...not great.   I had tons of stuff for $1.00 but sold very little.   I'm hoping to put much of it out at the AMO so it can go to a good home.
Thanks to Rich for putting in an amazing effort that made the show very successful.... sure was a lot of nice cars and it was great to meet up with everyone.   Food was good too!   I had no issue with the toasty weather but the green flies were not invited and showed up anyway.....saw a few hornets too!  ( had to toss that in)....see you next year!!

Here are the photos I took in the short time I was there. We could not stay long as we traveled from Buffalo, NY and needed to get back. I was glad to have made the trip and look forward to bringing my Javelin next time if there is another event. I hope you enjoy them.

Just thinking out loud... what about an AMC Empire Club (for the whole State of NY) with Rich as 1st President, and regional VP's for Western NY (I nominate 71SC360 or Sidewinder), Central NY, maybe a Capital Region/Hudson Valley, and even a Twin Tiers Region for Elmira/Binghamton.  Modest dues from all over the state might support a really good news letter with tech/how-to articles, spotlight members cars from the various regions, swap sheet section, etc.  Regionals could organize smaller local events/cruise-ins/road tours throughout the short NY season with the big annual CNY show every July.

Who can I send my $15.00 to for the new Empire AMC Club T-shirt (XL please)?  Or maybe NYAMC?  AMNY?  HRNNY Old Goat Club (Hudson, Rambler, Nash of NY)?

Just want to send a quick note to congratulate the organizers and particpants on a terrific show. I stumbled across the show flyer on Craigslist and am very glad the wife and I took the ride out to see it.

Nice (really nice) cars, pleasant location, real toilets (!), good food, plenty of shade when you needed a break, fun flea market, beautiful day. Well done.

As an AMC fan, but not an owner, it was a privilege to see so many nice ones in one place. AMC is generally under-represented, or unrepresented, at shows here in Rochester. Nice to go somewhere where they are the featured marque.

A big thank you to the planners of the show.  We had a great time.  The turnout was pretty good and hopefully shows the interest in a Western/Central/Twin Tiers area of NY AMC club.  I live within 1 mile of the NY state border in PA, so you might even draw some guys from the twin tiers area of PA with it.

Looks like there may be a new AMC club in the works!
In the meantime, are any of you CNY AMCer's (or any AMCer's for that matter) planning on attending the Syracuse Nationals this coming weekend? If there is interest, we may plan on an "AMC Spot" somewhere on the fairgrounds, hopefully next year we will be a recognized club and be eligible for a club area INSIDE a buiding!!
For those who have never attended, the Syracuse Nationals is one of the largest East Coast car happenings,3 days long, featuring over 7,000 Muscle Cars, Hot rods, restored antiques, rat rods, major sponsors, flea market, car corral,etc....It's really not to be missed!

Scott.....
I have never attended the nationals in Syracuse but would love to.  This year is probably out since I just got back from two weeks on the road and Boston.    I also have other commitments this weekend.   Depending on the timing maybe we can have a nice showing of AMX's next year....

I would also love to but after being at the Show on July 8 and then Boston the next weekend I need to stay home . We are camping near Syracuse the next weekend so it would be great to do it next year for us. Also my wallet is getting really thin putting gas in every weekend .

YEs, I can understand the thin wallet part. This time of year is very busy for shows, I've got the next 2 months full of shows to attend, luckily all are pretty close by.....I guess that's why mother nature has winters, so we can rest up for next season!

Better late than never, right?  Here's a link to all the pics the miss took at the show, at the time pictures were taken, this was every car on the field, some had left prior, and some trickled in after. Anyways, enough jibberish.
