Hoskins Motors, Auburn,NY 1976-1986  (Parts Mgr.) As an aside, Hoskins was an AMC/Rambler  dealer from day one, in 1954 he was selling Hudson badged Nashes. I enjoyed finding NOS Hudson parts in their inventory, as my daily driver back then was a '53 Twin H Hornet. Hoskins Motors closed when Chrsyler bought AMC,as he just hit retirement age. (1954-1987)

I've worked in a few (cleaning out their parts inventories) but never worked at an AMC dealer. I only worked for a Chrysler in the late 70's early 80's...

Probably doesn't count, but from 1966 to 1973 I worked (sometimes) at my dad's Jeep dealership, Gopher Jeep in Burnsville MN. AFAIK, it was one of the few Jeep delaers that never actually took on AMC cars after the AMC- Jeep merger. They might've taken the Eagle name on in 87 after the Chrysler take-over. Currently they are Park Jeep/Chrysler

I first started off going to my dads AMC dealership after school to wash cars, move cars in and out of the shop for the mechanics, work in the parts dept. and on the race cars. After I got my drivers license they used me as  a parts runner.

Later on in life I went to work for Weber American in Lawndale CA. as a quick service & lube man. They sent me to an AMC school where I learned to do brakes and front end alignments (gravy work). I would also help out in the parts dept. when they needed help.

After that I worked in the parts dept. at Bob Hansen Motors a Jeep & IH  dealership in Hawthorne CA. I started out working the mechanics counter, then worked my way up to parts manager.

After that I went to work at Walker Buerge Jeep Eagle as a machanics parts counterman.

That's my AMC job history.

If it counts from 1999-current have worked as a parts counterman at a Jeep/chrysler/dodge dealership in Forest Lake mn. Ever since I started working here we have been selling parts to Moody's service in Lindstrom Mn that back in the day used to be an AMC dealership. It is now just a all brand make repair shop that is ran by a decendant of the origional owner.

I worked at Larry Smith Buick / AMC in Morgantown WV for one glorious year in 1984.  I was the asst service mgr (i.e.; the write-up guy).   I remember the service mgr still wore leisure suits to work in 1984!!!

I was also stuck with writing up the Renault warranty claims - that was tedious work.   Had to hand-write them on these fat four-plicate carbon-paper forms, and then send them over the pond for eventual payment.

Larry Smith himself was a hoot.  He hit the bottle a lot.   His wife, Iris, actually ran the business.   I quit to go back to college (Morgantown is a college town, and tuition was cheap if you lived there).   After I graduated, Iris offered me a job as Service Mgr -- I declined since I already had a job lined up in Cincinnati with GE.

The dealership sponsored an annual golf tourny there, with a free Buick for a hole-in-one on a particular hole.   One year, '85 or '86, Larry never got around to buying the insurance policy to cover the risk of giving away a car on the hole.   As luck would have it, that year someone actually got the hole-in-one!!   So Larry ate a free Buick -- and man was Iris pissed!!   I bet Larry got cut off for at least a year.

That's about it for my AMC dealer memories.

South Shore AMC, Norwell MA. Service Manager.

Also helped out a lot at Hassand Bros AMC/Jeep in Quincy,
MA. They sold Nashes since the 1930s, and Chrysler just pulled the dealership last week as they did not sell enough cars. They will continue as a Used Car Dealership in the same buildings.

I was a mechanic at Charter Motors, Inc. Perry Iowa. He was pretty much getting out of new cars by then but the clientele was there for the shop.
Ramblers/AMC and used cars. He stayed in used cars for a while even after dropping new car sales. Will add their dealer number here when I get to my stuff.
Later turned down service manager position at BUD MULCAHY`S AMC in Des Moines. STUPID move on my part.............. they called ME.

Who's bottom line did they hurt with that logic?
Baffled me when they did that to a dealership that I frequent for my Ambassador and Dodge truck parts.
Daimler did the same to them in 98. They were a Jeep/Eagle dealer and they wanted them to carry the full line or else. Showroom only fit 2.
They opted for the "or else" and are still doing pretty good.

Sounds like the AMC dealership I worked at in 68-70  while I was in high school.
My father worked therre since the early 50's
Only AMC pulled Williams motors franchise  at the end of 1970.
They had already gotten some of there 71 cars. They tried to carry on selling used cars for a couple of years.
this is the building today.

I know where that is, drive by there all the time when I go to Auburn.. My house is in Ovid, so I have to go thru Seneca falls, and that's the route I take,   It's a Case Dealership which means, it's kind of still AMC as some IH trucks used AMC engines, and Case is IH.Smile

Yep, that's it!  Ironically, the owners father built the building in the late 1940's, and first opened as a Case Dealership!! In 1954, it became a Hudson/Rambler dealer...

I worked at Wise Rambler, in Wise, Va, in the summer of 64 between my junior and senior years in school. In the clean up shop.
Then from 86-90 I worked at Mountain Ford, in Clintwood, Va. which also had a Chrysler francise,. I worked in the body shop, As far as the AMC part of the francise went I worked on Jeeps mostly, but also 2 Eagles and 1 Spirit.
I remember I did a lot of waranty work on Wagoneers, mostly wind noise , water leaks, and hard shutting doors.

At 16, I washed cars at Universal Rambler, E. Jericho Turnpike, Commack, NY. I got to drive a lot of the cars from the front lot to the service garage out back. First time I ever drove a 2-seater AMX was at Universal in 1972. Ever since then I knew I would own one someday (didn't think it would be 30 years later!)

Started my apprenticeship at Baker's Sales and Service AMC/Jeep (Richmond Hill, Ontario) in '72.
Mechanic at Willowdale AMC/Jeep (Thornhill, Ontario) in '75 (actually bounced back and forth between these 2 for a few years depending on who was paying the most)
Tried a small dealership closer to home in '77, Upper Canada AMC (Newmarket, Ontario). Not enough work.
Back to the first 2 again as mechanic, service manager, parts manager.
Left AMC/Jeep in '81 and started up the sevice department for Suzuki Canada Inc. when they first introduced the Suzuki 4WD into Canada.
When I retired to the west coast in '87 as National Service Manager, I was replaced by a few of the upper management of AMC in Brampton, Ontario.

It's amazing to see how many forum members and AMC'ers are directly connected to a dealership in some way shape or form. I never worked for an AMC dealer (I worked at a Chysler dealerm late 70's early 80's) but AMC was already in my blood because my mother grew up in the house right next door to Sayre Motors, Sayre, PA, the same dealership that my father worked for in the early 60's. I don't remember any time when I was a kid in the 60's right through the 80's that we didn't own a AMC. I purchased my first Javelin (a 69 390 4 spd) in 78 because of the AMC/family connection. Once it's in your blood, you're hooked for life.....

Yes... and no. In 1995 I was asst parts manager at ECP- Elmira Chrysler Plymouth in Elmira,NY. The dealership was gasping its last due to gross mismanagement (If I cross my eyes I can see two sets of books...). We had the last AMC/Renault parts master fiche that was released and still had a few pieces available that had not gone NS1 (Chrysler speak for discontinued). When the doors were finally locked, I ended up with a NOS 68-70 Javelin/AMX fender to remember them by!

Although my dad and Grand-dad had an Hudson and AMC dealership, I never worked there while they were selling cars.  In 1979 I went to work as a parts counterman at Greentree AMC/Jeep in Clarksville, IN.  On October 1, 1979 the dealership changed hands, became Indian Village AMC/Jeep, the parts manager quit, and I became the parts manager.  Grossly undercapitalized, Indian Village AMC/Jeep was padlocked by the bank on March 20, 1980.  In October of 1983 I went to work as a counterman and AMC/Jeep specialist at Blue Grass Lincoln-Mercury AMC-Jeep-Renault Saab Isuzu and Alfa-Romeo at 4301 Shelbyville Road in Louisville, KY.  AMC pulled their franchise in 1985 when the owner once again "stiffed them" on building a separate showroom, and in March of 1985 I went to Cross Pontiac-GMC AMC-Jeep-Renault, which had shortly before purchased the franchise from the old Wilhelmi's AMC-Jeep [which if memory serves me correctly, began as Douglas Hudson Motors in around 1919, then became Douglas Rambler, Wilhelmi's Douglas AMC, and finally Wilhelmi AMC-Jeep.  That dealership was always located at the intersection of Bardstown Road and Douglas Blvd. in Louisville].  I stayed with Cross until December 1985, when another GM dealership offered me a lot more money for a lot fewer headaches.  Cross Motors--which began as Cooke Pontiac in downtown Louisville--finally sold the Pontiac-GMC franchise to megadealer Sam Swope, and is now Cross Motors Chrysler-Jeep.

I started my State of Wisconsin apprenticeship for auto mechanic at Buran AMC in West Allis, WI.  Worked there from 1971 to the end of 1979.  How many mechanics can say they have a master journeyman's card for auto mechanics?  Dealership changed names and location while I worked there.  Last name change was West Allis American.  The last building is torn down, but the one that I started in is still around.  Buran was the home of the Buran Hustler  SS/AMX.  I believe we also started one of the first AMC car clubs in the nation back in 1967-68.  It was called AMCC (American Motors Car Club) and we had our meetings in the dealership.  Also hosted road rallies and gymkhanas.  I remember running my 1963 Ambassdor with 327, 3 speed through the road courses.  Had a lot of fun back then.

I helped dad at the dealership (Plummer Motor Sales - Swanton Ohio)since I was 7 or 8 years old. I cleaned cars when I turned 13 and dad taught me how to use the buffer.  Every car that was delivered had to be buffed because of over spray and road grime.  When I got my license at 16, I got to beat on every AMX, Javelin, Machine, SC/Rambler and SC Hornet that came through the shop. I also worked for Hawthorne AMC (Maumee Ohio) as a parts runner for a very short time.  I tried to slide a 55 gal. drum of oil forward by slamming on the brakes of the RWB chevy truck.  Needless to say the back glass and the backof the cab was damn near totaled. LOL!!!!!

I worked for State Rambler in Schenectady, NY fall 1967-1969 detailing new and used cars. I just turned 16 and got to drive new Javelins and AMXs. The only thing he wouldn't let me drive was their two SC/Ramblers. I did run it around the lot lunch time when the boss wasn't around.

One of the highlights was driving the new cars into a local shopping mall for a new car show. I drove a 69 390 automatic AMX in. The mall said if you chirped the tires you were out, but I couldn't resist. You had to drive down this long hall to get onto the floor of the mall and I'll never forget how nice that car sounded echoing in that hallway! Another thing that was a lot of fun was the Thursday auctions. They would buy "program" cars (I don't know what that meant). Most of them were 4 door Rebels but once in a while they would get 343 SST Hardtops which were fun to drive back.

They seamed to order a lot of performance cars. There were quite a few 290 Rogues. The parts manager ordered a sweet 290 4 speed American wagon. The most frustrating thing was that the salesmen where absolutely clueless about performance cars and couldn't care less. They lost a lot of sales because of it.

My nickname was "firebug" because I went to pull a leftover 67 Rebel SST out of the back lot to prepare for delivery. This car was absolutely loaded, 2 dr HT, that rose color with a black vinyl top, 343, buckets, everything. It was below freezing and the car probably hadn't run in months so it was hard to start. I pumped it a couple of times and it would try to start and I kept pumping it, it started to catch there was a pop and then we were on fire! Fire started coming up under the dash... and the cars are parked so tight together I could hardly crawl out. I ran into the shop screaming "FIRE" and by the time we got back it was a total loss. It actually scorched the cars next to it. Come to find out some mechanic pulled the carb off to use on something else and just laid the fuel line and air cleaner over the intake and even left the return spring on the throttle linkage. All I was doing was shooting raw gas in the engine.

Probably the most fun job I ever had!

I was a lot person/parts runner at a Mopar dealer in the 80's.  It used to be Johnson Motor Company and sold Rambler and AMC products at one time. I remember seeing a Pacer on the showroom floor back in '76. When cleaning out some rooms way back when I discovered many many service manuals...some were pristine!  They let me have them all if I would buy a round that next Friday...so what could I say?  I even found a Metropolitan manual that had "NKI" on the cover...they still hadn't come out with "metro" name yet.   I still have a few after all these years...

I did not work at an AMC dealer ship but when I had a shop with my dad we had a contract to do body work on the used cars for Birchwood Motors in Westport, Ct. in the late 70’s early 80”s.

Only dealer ship was a Dodge/Chry/Plymouth in the mid 70’s before the takeover of AMC

Started at Potter Hillman Ford AMC Jeep Reault in 1986 to 94. Was a A flatrate tech there . We had the highest CSI in the area.I resealed so many transfrer cases and rebuilt so many carbs it wasnt funny . The fuel feedback was a joke it was more of a hindrance .. We used to rebuild or  resleeve the Alliance Encore in about3 hours  . We kept rebuilt cyl heads  in stock. Didnt like  it much when Jeep bought up all those 2.8litre V6s from GM and a large run of them had the rearmain seal jounal line bored wrong and the leaked and leaked and leaked oil. Warranty nightmare. Can remember  for years Jeeps would have  bad rear wheel cylinders  they would rust inside and stick the alloy pistons to the bore  couple that with a bad TPS sensor on a 4.0 litre and youve got a projectile vehicle , See the jeeps would rev high  as they wouldnt see closed throttle  and  since rear brakes didnt work  theyd just skid the front wheels in the rain and snow. Those were good days Yup Jeep could make you feel like a hero after  a lady would come in  with her Eagle towed in from knocking then youd run some  topend cleaner through the 258 and go blow the carbon out and it would be like you saved her an engine , One lady baked us cookies  and wrote the local paper as we  built her trust by not raking her over the coals. Later on then it became corporate Chrysler and Diamond Star and it just really wasnt the same. Got an AMX now doing it up to cruise next summer.

Back in the early 70's I did work for the AMC dealer that my Dad managed. Mostly just driving cars back and forth from the different auctions.
My Girlfriend got hired two years in a row by the dealer to stand next to the cars at a local car show and pass out brochures. (She was a model).
Later on after she left me and moved to Florida, I'd catch her on the cover of some boating magazines, and in some various boat ads.
Saw her on TV one night while watching 20/20. Hugh Downs was doing a special on the birth of a dolphin at Sea World (where she worked). Then on another TV special about the largest Cruise Ship.
When I caught her in a (Spring Break) issue of Play Boy back in 1983, I quit looking at magazines for awhile, but I degress........

My dad had worked in the car business for a number of years before opening a retail tire business (Warehouse Tire) in January of 1970.  He purchased the local AMC dealer in April 1976 (Warehouse AMC/Jeep) and I started working in parts department after school and cleaning up the shop on Saturdays.  Did that until I enlisted in the Navy in May 1980.  Dad kept the franchise until 1982 and stayed in the used car business for a couple of years after that.  Retail tire store stoll going after 42 years.

Rogue, I have a question. Do you remember the address, or have any old AMC paperwork with the address of AMC's Cleveland Ohio Zone Office?
I think it was on Eastland Rd. Cleveland, Oh. 44135, and I'm pretty sure the building is still standing, I just can't remember which building it is. (That's where I went to pick up my new "left over" 69 AMX in Jan. of 1970).
I thought it might be a good addition to the Old AMC Dealers thread.

I'll have to do some digging.  A few years ago I found a filebox that had a lot of the old car sales stuff in it but not sure what happened to it.  Dad never did believe in throwing that stuff away.  It might still be floating around here somewhere.  I don't remember ever having to go the zone office in Cleveland fro anything so I'm not sure where it was myself.

Have worked at dealerships that were AMC, but not while I was there. During the late 70's, I sold AMC and Chrysler vehicles at the military exchange in JAPAN. At one point we had a Pacer show car (custom paint, leather, and more). I had to get permission from the Navy to work there after hours and on weekends. In 91-95, I worked at Stein-Miller AMC Jeep, Buick, Pontiac, and GMC truck, They still had the AMC signs laying out back. The strange part, only AMC and JEEP were allowed on the building. All GM signs were on posts on the lot. They stayed with Jeep until Chrysler pulled the plug. From 02-06, I worked at Charlie Earhart, Inc. They stated in 59 selling AMC and continued to the end. They took on Dodge and Jeep after that. In 06 they closed their doors, and I watched truck loads of AMC parts being hauled to the junk yard. About 18 or so mostly AMC cars were send to the junk yard. They sent this to the junkyard but would not sell anything to an individual. From 06-09, I worked at T&T Buick-Ponitac and Jeep. They sold AMC's from 75 until the end. They had a great AMC tech working there. All three dealers are now closed due to Chrysler and GM pulling the franchise. I was the service and/or parts manager at the dealers.

I was selling parts at Holiday Linc Merc/Renault when the Renault /AMC merger happened and all of a sudden was an ACM/Jeep counterman! I was still there when the Chrysler merger hit and by then was parts manager. After that dealer belly flopped, I was the parts manager at one of the oldest family owned AMC dealers in the US, French Jeep Eagle.

All in Ft Worth, Texas

Up until a few years ago I raced a Spirit in Nostalgia Muscle Car (runnerup at first Lone Star Shootout, won the last one) until the divorce gods took it from me.

All good things happen to good people though, the current owner of the car gave me the motor and trans so I am looking for a car to put them in !!

I worked for an AMC/Jeep dealership from '86 through '88.

They were clearing out the Concordes and the 4x4 Hornet-based wagons and bringing in the Renault stuff ( Medallions; Alliances; Encores; and Premiers) under the 'Eagle' brand name.

I witnessed the acquisition by Chrysler; the demise of the old 258 c.i. sixes and the GM 2.8 V-6's; the sad passing of the Wagoneers and the 'J' body Gladiator pickups; and the introduction of the 4.0 'over-square' in-line sixes into the Cherokees and the 'Y'-series of Jeeps.

Drove and sold a lot of CJ-5's; 7's; Wagoneers; etc.

A neat thing about the Renault-based Premiers (and the sister Dodge Monaco) beyond their comfort; economy and handling, was that, dimensionally, they were almost exactly identical (except for height) with the '64 Classic.

I sold and delivered this dealership's last j-body Wagoneer (they were all leather-interiored 'Limited's then).

I moved on when the Renaults went away and the Talons (Mitsubishi Eclipses)came in

I loved my personally owned Eagle Medallion while I had it.

I am new to this forum. All my working life was spent Michigan. I worked at Lincoln Park Rambler from 1966, at 22 years old, to 1968 as a line mechanic. Moved to Campus AMC in Ypsilanti in 1968 as service manager through 1971. Moved to Fiesta Motors in Plymouth in 1971 as parts manager. This was an AMC/Jeep dealer. Very small operation. Moved to Village AMC/Jeep in Birmingham in 1973. They just got the Jeep franchise and the parts manager wanted nothing to do with Jeep. I was Parts manager through 1988. For several years I was also warranty administrator. Either I or one of my assistants wrote the warranty orders. It was out of the service department jurisdiction. The dealership owner said that service department people cannot handle paperwork properly but the parts department can. Moved to Winners Dodge in Woodhaven 1988. It was a new dealership. I was hired before the building was done. Biggest mistake of my life going to that dealership. 1991 I went to a contract company to work within Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn (I was born and raised in Dearborn). I controlled a fleet of new vehicles for diagnostic testing. My department developed the diagnostic hardware and software for dealership vehicle diagnostics. I "bought" new vehicles for testing and returned older unneeded vehicles. Right now, June 2013, I would have all 2014 vehicles and some 2015 vehicles. It was a long way from AMC dealership life. I retired in 2006.
When Chrysler was bought by AMC (that's how I saw it) I was invited to a Chrysler meeting to figure out how to include AMC part numbers in the Chrysler system. While at the meeting I saw a picture on a wall that was a chart of the history of AMC from the Gormully & Jeffrey Bicycle Co. 1879, Chrysler from Columbia Bicycle 1877 and Willys Overland from 1903. I still have that chart as well as other AMC memorbilia. All very dear to me.

Dad (SMOKEY) began in the 1940's selling and fixing used cars and during that time he had a gas station repair shop. 1950's opened his used car lot and dabbled in other business as well. I always was a wrench from about 6-7 years old, changed my first spark plugs  at 9 on a straight eight Buick, modified bicycles, fixed lawn mowers and etc. all before 12 at age 15 tore down my first v8 for a valve job, 16 had my first car and was drag racing and building cars thereafter. officially stopped racing at 24.

1962 we opened our AMC dealership Nap Rambler and thereafter known as Nap AMC Jeep , Webster, NY  Suburb of Rochester, NY. I started as a line mechanic then parts assistant, body shop and a sales person, greasy hands and all. It was no cake walk in those days selling Ramblers to the public that only recognized the competition. Dad over time lost interest and was going to sell so I objected and he agreed to let me take over at about 24-25.  The dealership had potential and was a new facility so I proceeded to make changes and within a couple years was one of the top ten dealers in the US. We were on the advisory group and met with Romney and Abernethy. About 1979 my younger bro took over added Ford to our lineup, NAP FORD and stayed with Amc till Chrysler came and closed out the AMC Franchise. I have 4 AMX's 68-69 one is a done,r Bro has 70 AMX.

I had a summer job at Majestic Motors in North Syracuse NY. They sold AMC’s and Jeeps.  I was 19 and I did warranty work and new car prep that the flat rate guys didn’t want to do. It was my first mechanic job and I was in-between semesters at auto tech school. My Dad always had Ramblers and AMC products and I thought it was great to work on them. The dealership was relatively new at the time and the 74’s were just out. I drove a 68 Javelin with a 290 at the time.  I bought a basket case 68 AMX for $365.00 and I spent my paychecks buying parts for it. I remember putting a thermostat in a 68 Javelin with a 390 and tow hitch. I took it out for a “road test” and got it sideways when I floored it! I had to have a 390 after that so I bought the basket AMX. The V-8 Gremlins and Hornets were amazingly fast and I got to drive most of them. The owner of the dealership drove a Cadillac and towed a big air-stream trailer. I remember they sold a hornet station wagon and the customer wanted a roof rack. The body shop didn’t want to do it so they gave it to me. I was told if I drilled through the headliner I would be fired. I didn’t drill through the headliner but I did mount it to far back. The body shop ended up fixing my mistake and installing it anyway! Just before I went back to school they cancelled production on Javelins and Ambassadors for no apparent reason.  The sales men were pissed because they had orders for them that didn’t get filled.  That’s my AMC dealership work experience.  It’s the only time I got paid to work on AMC’s. Little did I know I would work on them the rest of my life for free!

Worked in Parts dept at Schaumburg AMC from 86-88. Left after the Chrysler buy-out.   Remember one day the factory had a bunch of 70 AMX grills in inventory, and then suddenly there were none.... Chrysler was scrapping the old parts. Heart wrenching.   Sid, the owner, made out like a bandit faking warranty replacements of Alliance head gaskets. Then got greedy and started exaggerating the number of warranty heads we replaced... The factory audit almost shut him down.    Great memory of Walter Payton the great Bears player, picking up a brand new Wagoneer.    Got to say the mechanics worked their butts off, and I learned a good work ethic working with them.

At the NE Texas Classic Car Show on Saturday, June 14, 2014, my wife and I had an unexpected surprise. We meet an old AMC dealership employee. Mr. Harmon Keech worked as the Service Manager for Palm Springs AMC, in Palm Springs, Florida from 1965-1978, then the dealership became Glenn Guider Lincoln/Mercury, and Mr. Keech continued working there until 1984.
Mr. Keech had a world of knowledge regarding AMC, and he was impressed that Linda had kept her Javelin for nearly 40 years.

I have worked at a rambler dealership since I was 14, that was 1975 when
I started pumping gas and washing cars. I now own it and am the dealer-principal. It's a Chrysler/Jeep store now but it was Rambler/American Motors from sometime in 1955 till 1987.It became Chrysler after being a Jeep/Eagle deal for about 12 years. Prior to 1955 we were a Hudson dealer going back into the 1920s when we sold Essex and Teraplane, Dodge and Desoto too into the 30s. In 1869 we opened as a waggon builder. I will be at the office tomorrow morning at 8am having fun as usual. Aside from the Chryslers, Dodges, & Jeeps the only Ramblers there
right now are a '70Javelin parts car and a '66Rouge project, a 343,and a 401 on engine stands in the shop.

I worked at Stahls' AMC JEEP Renault , in Derby Ct. from 1975 to 1981 I started in the parts Dept. for about 3 years then moved to the service dept. as a mechanic . I worked with Pat Foster for most of those years as he was a salesman at the time (still see pat a couple of times a year and we BS about the good old days)  . The parts Manager (owners son) owned a 69 Trans am Javelin (yes one of the factory cars) I believe it was the #3 car . That was later sold to someone in Wisconson.

Stahls' started as a Willard battery dealer I believe around 1918 then in the thirty's became a Hudson dealer and later AMC then added Jeep around 1976 they lasted until the early 2000's as Dodge Dealer.

My Parents bought there cars from Stahls' from 1958 until 1978 . 1958 cross country wagon, 1966 classic 770 , 1978 pacer wagon V8, they also owned a 1970 hornet  , a 1978 concord and a 1980 spirit they bought as used cars. In 68 When I was ten the AMX GT show car was on display in their show room and I wanted my dad to by it. (LOL)

I bought my first car a 1951 Hudson Commodore from Stahls' a new Jeep pickup in 1978 and 66 Rambler Classic V8 a Trade in 1979. Also owned a 68 Ambassador SST 2dr. Hardtop.

In 1976 I bought a 68 AMX 343 go package car from Bednar AMC in Bridgeport , Ct. from their used car lot  and still have the car today along with 63 Ambassador 990 2 Dr. Sd and a 73 Jeep wagoneer.

I worked as a salesman at Sewickley Sales and Service, the local AMC dealer here, for a couple of years.
I bought my first AMX there, a 1970 390 4 speed in Golden Lime Metallic.

The 67 SST's were my ab fab favorite Rebel Design!! That brought sadness to me that it was totaled. :(
