I asked the same question, never got an answer. Had my torque converter rebuild to 2500 stall.  Was told by the rebuilder it was ~1800-2000

I would have to say 1600 or lower. Thing drops like a rock when you put it in gear. There's nothing in the TSM about it.

Just wondered if anybody had specific info.

According to http://clubs.hemmings.com/potomacramblers/Tech%20Tips%20pdf_img/Toughening%20Borg%20Warner%20M11%20&%20M12.doc" rel="nofollow - this 1969 Hot Rod Magazine article , "...the best stall speed you can arrive at with the stock unit is 1400 rpm..."

The most accurate way to determine stall speed is to test it in a vehicle.

Buzzman72...void where prohibited, your mileage may vary, objects in mirror may be closer than they appear, and alcohol may intensify any side effects.

Right here. And the more torque the engine puts out the higher the stall speed... the tune of the engine effects stall speed....  so there is many variables on this subject....
