Anyone know how much power the AMC 20 can safely take before the third member breaks? Mine has Moser axles and the axle tube have been welded to the third member. Thanks, -Steve-

From what people have posted in the past, the axle tubes will permanently twist or bend first.

How successful is welding the tubes?

Welding the tubes works fine to keep them from spinning in the housing (check for bent tubes after welding though), but the tubes themselves are very thin, and welding to the housing doesn't do anything to keep them from bending. Full Size Jeep Model 20's are supposed to have thicker tubes, though I've never heard of anyone starting with one of those to build a heavier duty AMC car axle.
