Gentleman, I would like to install aftermarket in dash AC in a V8 '69 Javelin.
I understand I can convert a stock AC bracket for a sanden style compressor, but where should the power steering pump go? Mount it down low where it is now? Will I need a belt back idler? mount it up high?
It's a non stock daily driver. I will keep the 343 of course!
I really appreciate the knowledge base on this forum, I would not be able to get this car back on the road without you guys.

Power steering pump is on driver side front of engine. A/C is on right front of engine.

Go to the HVAC section at the top of the Body/Interior section homepage

There's lots of AC information there.

Thanks for the feedback, the AC builds in the HVAC section prompted the question. I see where the power steering pump is mounted up high on the engine, where as mine ( non AC car) is mounted down lower.

They only have 2 power steering mounts for the V-8.  One for the Eaton pump (thru 70 or 71?) and a second for the Saginaw pump.   Pump mount is the the same for A/C and non-A/C.  Position is about the same, up high by the valve cover.  If yours is lower, it's possibly custom.

Couldn't be too much lower... my non power steering setup for 71 uses all the brackets for the pump to mount, just has a cage type mount for a pulley for the A/C belt, to tension with. All mounts proper in respect of how ps would fit. I wonder if your brackets are setup oddly?

Thanks Bob and 304-Dude, I'll mock up the pump on the block and see what I get. It's been a couple months since I stripped it down, I just don't remember it sitting up by the head.
