it's black in the bay/trunk, its 'rust' under the 'carpet' its got vinly floor actually. No power steering, pump washer, no radio, no power anything for that matter!
Has heat, but no a/c - the 'weather eye' system is in shambles, someone routed around the heater core, but it is there. Only thing running off the engine is the fan blade and alternator :) |

Sounds like a true fleet car! P1 Classic black was a standard color across the entire AMC line in 67. So...... hmmmm.... Special code was not used for two tone paint in standard available colors- they would just stamp both codes next to each other on the same line
Rubber floor mats were standard for the base 220 series (which is what this is)
Edit: ok, I looked at the pics. This looks like it was originally black. I'm stumped Edited by Steve_P - Aug/09/2007 at 11:05pm |

Like I say - the military had specs regarding paint - black isn't really necessarily black to them. An outfit in Indianola makes concrete pumping equipment and trucks for the Army, and they spec out the paint down to the thickness of each layer and they even specify the methods for measuring that.
It's possible their black was not AMC's black? |
