Header are the 1 7/8 from Dougs but i have to change a lot because of the crossmember of the Pacer. Also i have a lot problems to fit the steering thru the headers.
In my opinion it is better to cut the frontend away and build a new Frontclip. It is much lighter and you have more space. The front section is not realy useful for a racecar.

I'm using a Chassisworks Mustang II style front end on my Pro-Street AMX build. I still had to severely modify a set of Doug's 1 7/8" headers to fit. I had set the front track width same as stock, but still lost a little space between the frame rails. Also positioning the rack vs the engine was a bit of a challenge. What I did was to position the rack in between the oil pan and harmonic balancer by raising the engine up a bit. I had checked with Chassisworks and what I had done was within their limits. Take a look at the pictures in my AMX build to see some of what I had done, might give you some ideas.

Looks like the Idea I had of making a little truck out of a pacer wagon, you know one with rear end damage and just cut behind the drivers seat, add diamond plating and one AMC pickup truck, with a 327 Amc/T-10/4 barrel high rise...nice!

Long time no speak.
Dad finished the pacer. I got to take it out for it first few runs. 12.11 but it needs different fearing. Coming over the line at 4800 needs to be 6200. 4.30 needs to come out and 5.13 need to go in... Car weighted 2580 without driver.
Still nice for a shake down.
