I would be more surprised to hear of correctly sized journals on an AMC V8 cam from Comp. Both cams I got from them were oversized. I have since spoken to several other people that have had the same exact problem with AMC V8 grinds from Comp.

Correct finished bearing ID #s

1. 2.122
2. 2.092
3. 2.062
4. 2.032
5. 2.002

Do you see the pattern? That is finished ID bearing size for an AMC V8 (+/-.0005). It is literally .030" of step between bearing sizes and lobes on the camshaft. How hard is that to follow?... .030" for every bearing journal. Seems like a no brainer. Maybe a no brainer was running the grinding machine that day.

Same problem here. Oversized comp cams journals. Builder didn't realize upon assembly and spun a cam bearing. Cam had to be polished to fit correctly.

Like I was just reading in another thread:

McDonald's

Walmart

Acer Computers

Sometimes (most times?) greatest sales numbers doesn't = greatest quality

I personally scratched Comp Cams off my list for off the shelf hydrolic cams because of the complaints,
and what seems like a complete lack of effort to correct them.
