Had a question regarding the outer bushing. Had my Z bar fall out the other day and discovered the aftermarket outer idler bushing (frame side) had ground up. Less than 1000 miles on it. I found my original that is pictured in the TSM, and discovered it was an entirely different design. The original will not allow the bar to walk toward the frame (this is how mine fell out on the engine side). Does anyone have a source for the OEM bushing? It is dome shaped and is not open ended like the reproduction.

Talking 70 Javelin IIRC in the TSM it is open so you can get the clip over the end so the bar can not move back-n-forth or to the motor side.

I also want to say I remember reading something about the motor brackets of different size. Maybe between 6 cly & 8 cly cars? Could it be you have the wrong parts?
Sorry cant be of more help

The amark bushing is different:

I had the same style in there from APP and it fell apart.

Bushing in the 70 TSM is closed:

Parts are all correct other than the reproduction outer idler bushing which failed.
I have seen another diagram (70-74 V8) just now with the open bushing/clip.

The part I have matches the diagram in the 70 TSM.
Did they switch to the other style bushing in 71?

To tell the truth I have not looked at any other than 70 Javelin as that is what I have. I also don't remember if my TSM covers your model?
I do know the open worked on my 70 Javelin just took me a long time to figure out how the clip went as everything was messed up so was going from scratch.

I have an original copy of the 70 TSM from a closed dealership. The linkage shows the bushing I snapped a picture of. Generic shot for all 1970 6 and V8. I'm thinking it was a predecessor of the open holed one. I've been under my car a couple times looking for an attaching point for the spring that is supposed to keep the z bar from sliding. I have slipped a fuel line clamp under both grommets instead. Eliminated the side to side play entirely.

The one I acquired is closed ended and is either copper or brass. I am a little confused after seeing mine as I have seen the repos only in plastic. I cant see putting this on my car in plastic with a heavy pedal from a borg and beck. I also thought Amark makes his stuff as correctly as possible.
