I'am back.....complete with up date.
The exhaust is completed. Went with a single pipe and stock muffler. Ready to roll down the road listening to the stereo rather than exhaust. Alignment was a major set back. Shooting for 4 degrees of positive caster. Couldn't make it. Thomas came over and discovered the problem. We have raised the rear more than we anticipated which has thrown our front cross member off. Not an issue he said, we'll just cut it off an re-weld. Part of hotrodding he told me. We made a deal that he will not charge me for this if I do it in his time frame which will be the last week of October. At the same time he will finish up the AC system. i.e. hoses and charging. Maybe this was all a blessing in disguise. The doors being a different color bug me every time I walk by the car. It is a result of mixed paint. I bought a gallon of mixed paint for Rapid Delivery, my postal jeep. I started painting The 69 with that paint and had another gallon mixed. They are not the same. I have enough remaining paint to repaint the doors and cowl. Now is the time........!!!!!!!!!! Couple of spots on the front fender I didn't like too. Next is the passenger door. Got my 2:73 gears for the rear axle. They are Ford gears rather than after market. I'll jump on that after the painting project. Tim, my graphics-trim man is working on two designs for me. First....... I want the Z's to be roads and the stripes to go all the way to the front and rear. Second one........ Something like this, but more flame looking and tone it down a bit. One more major issue has jumped up and slapped me in the face........the tires. I got a bit carried away. I bought 215-55R-17's but they are too big. Need to drop to 205-50-17. Just a thing I guess. Looking forward to car showing and playing next week. Coming is a NSRA Show in Gonzales, LA and the week after is Crusin' The Coast. I am up for it !! Having AMC Fun, Ollie |

I believe your second choice was referred as "Tribal" stripes. I also think that fad ended a few years ago. However,it is your car so go with whatever pleases you,

I think that the Tribal maybe a bit to much.........I told Tim some flames in that style and toned down a bit. Ready for another surgical strike tomorrow morning. Its still 95-98 degrees everyday and breezy in the afternoon. 0600 hrs its in the 70's and calm, plus all the bugs are sleeping....... Having AMC Fun, Ollie

I been working.......I should be at Cruisin' The Coast this week but we blew it off this year. Last weekend we went to the new NSRA Show in Gonzales, Louisiana. They pulled in 650 cars, low for a NSRA Show but good for the first time I guess.
For the latest updates.......I repainted both doors, now the car is one color. So glad I did that as it would have drove me nuts if I didn't. Got the new tires on. Had to drop one size. Ended up with 205/50/17. Finally figured out my surging at idle, found a leaking fuel line and replaced it. Next week me and Pete are going to change out the ring and pinion gear, dropping to 2:73. My used Ford gears look great. Thomas, my rod shop guy is at Cruisin' The Coast but he told me before he left that he is still on track to work on the front end and the AC system the week of the 21st. With a bit of luck I should be driving by the end of the month. Got the last of the AC stuff, hoses and fittings from Cold Air yesterday. Some updated pics.......... Can't put in the grill until the AC hoses are completed. The bumpers have to wait until the graphics are finished. Having AMC Fun, Ollie |

I want sure I was going to like those wheels, but that profile shot is changing my mind. The bumpers will tie them in nicely.
