Do note that the AMC recommended external oil line was only 1/8" copper tubing and intended to supply additional oil, not ALL the oil. The passage around the head bolt would get sludge built up which would reduce, but not eliminate, the oil supply. I'd use a 3/16" line to supply all, maybe even 1/4".

i would use a 1/4 line and a valve to control how much oil gets to the rocker shaft
are you planing on using hollow pushrods?

I have the opposite problem. I am installing a head with the rocker bridges inplace of the head with the rocker shaft. I have replaced the push rods but how do I block the oil passage on the deck of the block?

The passage is blocked (non existant) in the later head so the oil stops at the block surface.

No, I only need oil thru the pushrods. I want to block the passage on the block which feeds the rocker shaft which is no longer used.

The head gasket has a slot which creates a passage between the hole on the deck and the head bolt. |

There's no where for it to go from that point upward. The head has no passage. |

I have a late 80's block with a 81 head. The gasket is for late 80's. I look as the head does not have the surface area the block has around the slot on the gasket and oil may leak around it.

From 75 and up the 258's had bridged rockers so I'm not understanding your concern over a leak that shouldn't happen.
