Did AMC use an OE 'high-stall' torque converter in the cars with a 727? I had read of and seen them in IH Travelalls and Dodge Trucks, anywhere else?
Would it be a good choice in a mild street application, ie. 360, 401 cam, 3.54s in a Matador Coupe? Looking to build the best combo of OE pieces. |

not from the factory. AMC engines made a ton of low speed torque so they didnt need a higher stall converter. I know the AMX's with borg warners had like a 1200-1500 RPM stall tops. I doubt the torqueflites in the 72's had stall any higher than that.

I like running a 2200 rpm stall converter if you have a mild performance engine!
