New in box Proportioning valve
Part number on KH box is 12535, number on valve is KH85869
I believe this fits 71-74 years

$200 plus shipping

What is the "letter" on the cardboard tab under the manual reset on the end???

so if you swapped from drum front to KH disc front....do you have to have this to make them work properly?

Just FYI, the D tag means it is for a Matador/Ambassador 6 cylinder car with front Disc.  I need a J tagged unit.....thanks for letting us know.

Yes. It's designed to keep the front to rear braking effort in balance and avoid premature rear lockup.

I was told that the rear drums on front disc cars were a different size to the standard drum brake cars
and that you need the discs and drums from a donor car.

Anybody able to confirm that?

Not true in any aspect.   They had 10 x 2 and 10 x 2 1/2 read brakes with different drums, but you could get either with disc up front......only the wheel cylinder sizes changed for the width change.  The both used the same proportioning valve.
