Looks like Molnar added a 2.100 6" long AMC rod to the catalog after doing the new stroker crank kits

I like that for another option on an offset ground 390 / 401  crank

I just purchased a set of the small journal 6" rods AH60000LLB8-A and received them on Wednesday.

Nice looking quality rods. Weight on the set I received was 622.3 grams

Molnar rods are excellent quality, round holes, and the sizes are on the money for every one I check

Just out of curiosity, what would the stroke be by offset grinding a 401 crank be on both the 2.0" and 2.1" end rods?

The 2.0" end would be 3.925" and 2.1" would be 3.825", correct?

Thanks,

Correct, that requires a perfect crank unless you go under size bearings.

Thanks for the info. I'm eyeing parts for my next engine build.

Looking (down the road) at a Procharged 401 with aluminum heads and 4-bolt main caps on 93 octane.

Tom

I noticed those. Thought I read somewhere the 2.0" rod journals would be marginal. I'm not looking to set the world on fire with the next (and probably last) performance AMC engine I want to build. Want reliability and easy 10 second 1/4 mile runs on pump gas. No doubt a tall order but it's been done.

Sorry if I've hijacked this thread.
