Im curious what were the dyno tested on? horsepower level , engine out of car or at the rear wheels?? And how massaged were the factory free flows? Im thinking I might want to go back to manifolds.. |

The test was done on an engine dyno with a 30over 401. The manifolds were massaged around the AIR humps (flattened out). The HP numbers could have been better but I am running the Offenhauser 2 X 4 intake which is somewhat restrictive. The results were:
366hp and 401 torque Massaged manifolds
368hp and 411 torque Edelbrock shorties
382hp and 430 torque Long tubes

I also have issue with my original Doug Thorthly headers frying the original starter and not wanting to go with an aftermarket mini starter.
Will I still need to install the right side header and the starter at the same time? Is there more clearance at the starter head, giving it more cooling room? A picture of the header and starter would be great. Steve Original owner 1971 Javelin AMX |
