Hey all!! I have a 1964 Rambler Classic 660 I am restoring, I am just about done, but, I sent the fuel tank out for acid dip and relining, all turned out well for $110!! Now, I replaced sending unit, I bought it from American parts depot, put in the tank, all went well, but now trying to put tank back under car, the new fuel tube is different than original. Tank goes up, but only a little bit because it hangs up on fuel tube!! Damn it!! Lol anybody have this happen, or have any ideas to modify? It catches on trunk lip at back where tank straps go with threaded rod ends. Thanks in advance!!

Not sure, did you check the clocking of the sender points the tube in the proper location. If so, is the tube too long or too tall? If too tall, you may try a wee bend to clear.

I did, its just a smidge off, and the fuel tube is touch longer before the bend. I can push it up with a slight rub, once the tank is secure, I think it will be fine. But once I put new rubber line and hose clamp, I don't think it will go.

That is when I get out a hammer and adjust the body a little.
