On March 1, 2014 the list that was compiled of people interested in the new Edelbrock STR-11 will be considered fulfilled. Anyone on the list that hasn't contacted me, can still get their manifold at the original price of $1495.00 provided they contact me by March 1, 2014. After March 1, 2014 all remaining manifolds will be made available to the public.

With the correct carbs, sure. That comment is related to tuning the 5 liter TA engine with two 600 cfm carbs. this was back in 68 when, I think the only other intake was a dual plane performer which did not have the desired high end performance.
A 390/401 will respond differently to this long runner design than would a 290/304. There is a great youtube video of a street 401-based motor with the STR-11, it made great mid-range torque. Dan Sharer's 434cid AMC 1972 Javelin Gopro video by Lyle Howell on a Powermark DTS 4000G Dyno Dynamometer at Portland engine rebuilders trigger pulled by Steve Clark Engine made 479.2HP at 5400RPM and 524TQ at 4300RPM all on pump gas... Small cam with only 224-232 degrees of duration at .050" http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_2Zcjw9TJa0 Edited by 343sharpstick - Mar/12/2014 at 9:35am |
