1971-74 AMC AMX Javelin Matador Ambassador Clutch Hurst 4 Speed Bellcrank Z Bar

American Motors brand new, reproduction Bellcrank, Z- Bar for 1971-74 AMC Matador, Ambassador, Javelin and AMX. This is a very limited run on these, so get them while they are available.

The part was reverse engineered from an original, NOS bellcrank and then verified with a very nice used piece. Blue printed, designed, assembled and welded in the USA. Even the steel we sourced is USA Made. Arms are laser cut for consistency. The main shaft was done on a CNC, so each shaft is identical. The welds are very consistent and have excellent penetration (better than the originals ever had). After welding, the assembly was zinc coated for protection. Not the zinc coating you can do in your garage or out of a spray can. These were done at an industrial plating company.

Bell crank measures approximately 8-1/2" from end of ball stud to end of ball stud with clip.

This Z bar is technically OE correct for the 1971-74 model years only. When the longer arm is flat on a table, the short arm will be raised at an angle. The AMC engineers also added a small clip attachment point on the short ball end in 1971. The clip serves no useful purpose once Z bar is installed. It just helped the assembly line workers bring in the assembly to the bottom of the car. The clip, strut bracket, bellcrank and and plastic idler bushing were one unit when installed. I am sure that saved time and kept multiple pieces from dropping all around during line assembly.

Here are the specific models, engine and transmission combinations that this is designed for:

1971 Matador, Javelin, AMX, Ambassador with a V8 and a 4 speed

1972 Matador, Javelin, AMX, Ambassador with a 3 speed or 4 speed transmission
1973-74 Matador, Javelin and AMX with a 3 speed or a 4 speed transmission

$125 plus shipping. I accept friends/family Paypal, check, money order or Postal money order.
