1970 AMX, Javelin, Hornet, Gremlin, Rebel, Rebel Machine, Ambassador --- Clutch Z Bar Outer Idler Plastic Bushing.

Brand new, reproduction and a one year only part. I decided to make a small run of these for all of the 1970 AMC fans out there. Get them while they are available.

The part was reverse engineered from an original, NOS part that I was fortunate enough to acquire last year. It was blue printed, designed, and machined in the USA. The plastic bushing is made out of the same material as the original part (Nylon). The fit is so good to my reproduction z bar ball stud ends, that the plastic actually makes a popping sound when removed from the ball stud. You will not find any better quality plastic than this piece.

Original AMC Part Number is Group 5.168-17 # 3197246

The plastic idler bushing is designed to fit the following models:

1970 --- All Models (3 and 4 speed). This would included the Javelin, AMX, Rebel, Rebel Maching, Hornet, Gremlin, Ambassador.

Note: There was a production assembly line change in late 1970. AMC engineers added a clip attachment point to the outer ball end that aided in the assembly of the clutch linkage while moving done the line. Once installed, the clip did not serve any real purpose. This style of bushing is designed for the z bar without the clip attachment point on the outer end. It will only work on the early to mid 1970 models without the clip attachment point.

$15 plus shipping. I accept cash, check, money order or friends/family paypal.
