Working on a 70 AMX. I am trying to get the heater working. Previous owner removed the A/C components except for the heater box under the Dash. It has the Weather eye system with the four levers.
on the back of the switch I have one plug coming from the harness to the bottom three prong plug. The wiring and plug is missing from the four prong above it. could someone help point me in the direction of where to look, or what the four prong plug connects to? I am new to AMC and am at a roadblock here. I have a service manual but it doesn't help in this situation. Thanks. |

I believe the other plug is part of the separate a/c harness. I suspect that if the a/c is still removed, along with it's harness, then you would connect to the 3 terminal fan switch. The bottom slider is for the a/c functions. Fan functions are redundant to both systems. If the blower resistor was removed from under the hood then you may need to make some wiring changes as the a/c cars had a one speed motor with a single wire and the three speed dropping resistor. Non a/c, non Command Air cars used a two speed motor and were wired directly.

The only wiring there is the three wire plug that comes from the blower motet to the switch. Could I jump power to the switch somewhere to just make the blower work for defrost? If so does anyone know what prong to hook to?
Thanks. |
