i saw this the other night. I've known about these cutting machines for a long time but the idea just never clicked. They'd work for water pump gaskets and such. Head gaskets, I don't think so. It's a neat idea though. Another use I could think of would be to create patterns for custom castings. Take a cad model and slice into layers equaling one sheet of material. Sack them by glueing together. There's a company offering a 3D printer that uses regular paper that does this. The basic idea has been around for a while with machines that could produced fairly large models of castings, finished products, etc. The end result was tough enough to even machine. One use was make topographic maps at exagerated evelations. Big smile
