I have an AMC Motorola starter that I am trying to identify. It has the five ribbed snout on it with the date code(?)"D6FF" followed by "11131AA". There is also a "D" stamped on the outside housing. I suspect an early 290 starter? It seems to have been oversprayed at some point with 1968 type AMC blue.
Unfotrunately I have sent it out for rebuilding, so I don't have access for any photos. Any help appreciated! Chris |

I could be wrong on the Motorola, but it is an AMC starter of approximately the vintage we usually deal with, ie 66 and up V8. I thought there was some difference between three and five rib front gear casings? Not a functional difference, just related to era.
Thanks! Chris |
