RV cam is probably better for towing & making torque not horsepower. That combined with 4.56 gears means it's gonna run out of wind by the time you're at 4000 RPM.

What's your timeslip say? 60 foot? 1/8th? ET & MPH?

60 foot isn't too bad. Compression is quite low. It's not making much power. Doubt you can do much without making changes to the engine.

I'm curious as to the rest of the engine. What intake, carb, ignition, exhaust?? What transmission?

I have limited experience but I really think your stock converter is holding you back. I realize your combo is not making power higher in the rpm range but I think a quality converter with a higher stall would put the engine in its power band and would decrease your 60' times. Just a thought.

I think with your package you are right where you need to be. Around 14 flat @ 96 mph. To get any faster (big time) you would need to change a lot of different things. Cam, carb, converter, recurve dist, bring in total timing around 36 to 38*. Maybe pump up the drag radials to 25 to 27 pounds. Just a few ideas that worked for me.
