I currently have 3 motorola alternators.
A12NAM552 A12NAM553 Tag is Unreadable At this point (50 yrs of rebuilds), I dont trust the tag on any of them. I assume the 55 in the part number is 55Amps? I see in the parts catalog that the 45 and 55 Amp have different: 4 - Isolation Diodes 14 - Diode Positive 15 - Diode Negative 16 - Stator 19 - Rotor I dont see any identifiying marks on anyting but the Diodes (25 and 35) I would like to confirm that I have a 50A, 55 Amp Alternator and/or build a 60A alternator if possible. I see that Galvins has some components availalbe for a rebuild/upgrade. Is there any way to identify the application for the parts below that are suitable for a 50A, 55A or 60A: 4 - Isolation Diodes 14 - Diode Positive 15 - Diode Negative 16 - Stator 19 - Rotor Will installing the 50A stator do any harm/good? Thanks |

Billd here on the forum rebuilds-restores alternators and does a very through job of it. He would be the one to talk to to get correct answers to your questions.
