Can Mopar lifters be used in AMC V-8's (304 cid)? The reason I'm asking is I would like to use Trend tool steel solid lifters in my '79 AMC stocker. Trend doesn't show lifters for AMC. They have Mopars solids with push rod oiling. Before I call Trend, thought I would ask here.

They're supposed to be the same but some of us have seen diameters be 0.001" too small causing oiling problems.

I gotta think there are AMC specific solid lifters with push rod oiling out there.

I realize the cam companies have solid lifters for AMC, but I don't believe they are tool steel:

Another source is PPP.  They are a major supplier for NASCAR engines and will make the lifters any diameter you need.  You will need to call them and discuss what you want because they can custom contour the radius of the surface, "roll" the edges, DLC coat them, etc.  It will be good to coordinate with your cam grinder for the best lifter.  https://www.pppcenter.com/

You got a great buy on that car.
